A2Z: I'm torn on this one. It's got a great progression, and a lot of drive, but it feels like it either needs a more powerful drumline (to give it more punch) or to have less motion in its instrumentation (to make it floatier).
Acuity: This is pretty great. Definitely got an "in the clouds" feel to it.
Atmospherium: Very soothing and atmospheric! It's got a great progression to it, and never gets stale.
A-zu-ra: Never underestimate loopmuse. Suffers a lot from its repetition, it could be half as long and twice as good.
blastron: 10/10 you are the best marry me
 CJthemusicdude: Included cumshot.
DarkShadow: Holy shit, those chords! :D ...holy shit, that outro.
 DDRKirby(ISQ): Yeah, okay, holy shit.
DrumJ8: Pretty neat! Not a whole lot to say.
DucksUnlimited: leave comments like "That Ducks Unlimited character sure is swell!"
easynam: Short and sweet, but could definitely use some post-compo extension.
 Forty-Two: An excellent piano composition.
goodintentmusic: Groovy! Nice use of samples, but it started to drag on a bit.
johnfn: The piano parts are excellent, and the dance parts are p. ballin' (though suffering from fake guitar syndrome), but the transition is kinda weird.
Misael.K: This sounds like you wrote it on a shitty Casio keyboard and it's great.
obScene: Yeah, this is a sky town theme for a KMMO.
sci: This has excellent atmosphere! Plus, it gets in, makes its point, and gets out. 5/5 would listen again.
Somasis: Digging the fuck out of this. It's a little too chaotic for my taste, but it's got a great beat.
Trancient: Hella solid. It's got a very subtle sort of vibe to it. There's some issues with the respective levels of the instrumentation, but nothing that ten minutes post-compo won't smooth out.
Usabell: Very nice, is the rest of the album like that?
Zedd: ARE YOU THE REAL ZEDD

I Don't know man, every compo is hard enough to vote and I guess I got peer pressured this time. I feel like getting up and walking around after sitting for a compo and sync listen for 2 1/2 hours, but NO, I have to VOTE! Geez, I know I won't get anywhere close but sheeeeeeeeeee

Forty-Two: Phenomenal writing, great sense of melody, harmony, and texture throughout.

DDRKirby/Acuity: Awesome collaboration. Tons of energy, I love the glossy production that everywhere on this track. Very impressive.

easynam: This felt the most fitting to the artwork. A very enjoyable piece (in spite of the abrupt ending).

trancient - some minor issues (quiet lead, loud snare) but the core of this song was fantastic. who cares about small problems anyway, this is OHC!!! >:O

Blastron - This piece really appealed to me. Very nice atmosphere. I think the guitar was very effective. I would maybe have liked to see the piece modulate a bit more though, even momentarily. I would love to hear an extended version of this piece with maybe an occasional high-pitched instrument as well.

Trancient - Also a very nice atmosphere. Although the drums could have been a bit softer. Nice chords, especially the use of the major 7ths. I like major 7ths. Nice rhythm at 1:38. The part at 2:44 was very welcome.

A2Z - This piece also appealed to me, much like Blastron's. Effective use of drums. Quite dreamy in parts. The part at 0:32 was very interesting. The repeated second chord really added to the surrealness of the piece. An odd note at 1:02 maybe? I liked the background strings (sounded like strings, anyway) with the motif that first appeared right at the beginning of the piece.

Others I'd like to mention, in no particular order:

Sci - I liked the surreal effect with the vocals going up a minor 2nd combined with the chord going up a minor 3rd, with the overall interval going from a 3rd to a 2nd. I would love to see you (or someone) explore this technique a bit more. Quite a dreamy piece in many ways, which is maybe why it appealed to me so much. I like dreamy/surreal pieces as long as they sound nice.

Atmospherium - This reminded me so much of the village music from Diablo. Again the 7ths are nice. The piano could maybe have used a longer release, or maybe a bit less harsh, but I still liked it.

obScene: The opening guitar was very effective. I like the shakers in the background at the section at 0:31. It might have been nice for the piece to modulate to a key other than E major for a few bars but I don't mind too much that you didn't. The violin sounded slightly off with its attack on a few notes, but otherwise the sound blended very well with the ensemble you had going. Also the cutoff ending is slightly unfortunate - even letting the last few notes ring on and die away might have been better.

easynam: This piece also created a nice atmosphere. I like the percussion at 0:26 and in general over this section. Especially when combined with the harp-y instrument doing the downward arpeggio. The last section was maybe a bit simplistic for my liking, though not unbearably so.

Somasis: chipmunks are funny

I like your style, Forty-Two.

Deng it leave some talent for the rest of us will you, DDRKirbz.

Repetitive, but not repetitive enough for me not to like it nor give it my 2nd place vote, I Am Dumb-zu-ra.

Apologiez for missing my first OHC in a while last week, for I got married last Thursday. For the record, I did bring my Macbook Pro, Cubase dongle, and Portable Hard Drive with me to Vegas, but alas I was busy eating wedding cake at around 6pm last Thursday. I hope it'll be a long time before I miss another one.

Voting is too hard. Lots of good stuff, hard to rank them.

Trancient, superb and fitting.
Ducks, very different approach and just as fitting.
Sci, most unique song of the night.

1. obScene: the mood fits perfectly to the theme in my opinion

2. blastron: good arrangement, production quality could be better. Good song after all. I'd like to listen to it well produced. Special mood. Fits in its own way.

3. johnfn: first part is great - sounds like Hisaishi - fits good. Second part is also good. But somehow it sounds like two different songs in one. I didn't get the connection between the two parts. Maybe you could have fixed that with a little more time.

4. Trancient + Forty-Two. Great entries, both of you. So close and such a hard decision...

A lot of good tracks this week. Keep 'em coming!

DucksUnlimited: so peaceful, so warm sounding. I love this.

CJthemusicdude: this is a town up in the clouds! Nicely done.

obScene: Very beautiful. Just needs some better closure, IMO.

What I also liked a lot:

Acuity and DDRKirby(ISQ) (both tracks): very energetic, good work. Perhaps too energetic for what I imagined "the clouds" to be!

DarkShadow: A lot of adventure and action going on here, I expected the clouds to be more tranquil than that. =P

Trancient: I liked this a lot, but the drums are getting a bit in the way of the song, most of the time I wanted them to go away so I could listen to the pretty tunes in the back. Nice work, though. :)

Some other tracks I enjoyed too (Kudos to all of you!):
A2Z; Atmospherium; blastron; easynam; I Am Dumb-zu-ra; johnfn; sci; Zedd.

Trancient - interesting style, it's pretty relaxed.
DucksUnlimited - nice atmosphere, bird samples seem to be unique.
obScene - nice and calm piece. great string sounds.
Zedd(Jaded Theory) - great drop samples.
