Hard choice...
Hemo's was probably my favorite, and as such grabs first.
Xerol's sounded exactly like its title and gets second place for his honesty.
Dyne's piece needed a few more ideas to make it awesome.
Knives really rode on that 'ghost' synth. Regardless, the ride was fun.
Overcoat is a poor Zun imitation. His brass are bad without that classic Touhou character.
Beatdrop's sounded like a really good start. (crush&)EXPAND this later plz.
I really don't remember starla's at all, so no witty comment.

I considered stuff like tempo, intensity, and use of synths, since those are all the things that come to mind when I think "veritcal scrolling space shooter game music." I had a hard time picking third place, it was a tie between starla and hemophiliac... I think it was the electric guitars that won me over though.

Just felt that Knives really hit that sweet spot for the style I was expecting.

Beatdrops sounds like a good first level, I can see millions of bullets being shot toward me.

Hemos sounds like the third or fourth level, where you're deeper in the lair. Very well captured, I like this one a lot.

Knives sounds like the boss music at the end of the stage. Overall I really liked these three entries.
