Silverpool - gets 2nd place because sound choices were very good - the BPM change for 2nd half works pretty well and gives this remix just enough originality to not call it a straight midi rip ;) Nice work Silverpool!
Klevarkoopa/ Mr. L - This is the case of excellent production not being the only deciding factor. Was tied for TheVideoGamer here. But I do appreciate the interpretations here. 'Haunted Forest' is a bit too liberal an approach for context of MnP to elevate it to 1st or 2nd place - maybe if it had tempo changes at parts to put it back to the original 190bpm? Not sure. It's just this feels more like a Metroid Prime source tune than a Castlevania IV theme. Which isn't a bad thing by any means and certainly would be appreciated more in PRC. Regardless, I love the production and sound design here :)
The Videogamer: Whilst certainly better produced than Silverpool's entry, I have a hard time pinpointing exactly why I didn't think 'Enter the Forest' gets 2nd or 3rd spot. But one thing does stick out... The detuned chords didn't work well in the breakdown part - and they didn't evolve, they remained the same chord formation just different base notes. If you're gonna reinterpret a bit, it's better to build off of the material that's already present. Good god...I sound like Liontamer. Can someone please blow my brains out with a 20 guage shotgun? Thanks!
Either way, the effort you put into 'Enter the Forest' IS very much appreciated - especially your participation! Keep at it man, you'll get to that gosu level sooner than you'll know :)
Round of applause to all who participated.

KlevarKoopa - Really cool interpretation of the opening. You say you didn't change much but the piece feels quite different from the original. It's amazing what small changes can accomplish. My favorite sounds are the bassline and the lead part with the delay on it that keeps jumping back and forth between the two speakers.
silverpool - Sounds are well-balanced albeit pretty basic (especially that bass part). Good use of delays on some parts. I hear a few obvious additions and a few more subtle additions that I like. I'm not a fan of the speedup though, as I don't feel it accomplishes anything musical.
