First place vote to Realmthree. Holy crap, I LOVE this interpretation of the desert theme. Please find a way to expand the length of this somewhere between two and three minutes and message the crap out of me on the OCR forums when you do. The one thing that sounded out of place was how high that arpeggiated synth is starting at the 40 second mark. If you bring that down, when the saw melody comes in and punches you in the face at :46 it'll be really effective.

Second plate to Kat. I really like the concept with this and the instrument selections. Some of your sound effects are sitting a little high in the mix, however.

Third place to Bundeslang. This is structurally similar to the way I would have arranged the theme. I feel like this is headed in the right direction, but it needs more ambience and pad chords to add some depth and build intensity to when the beat comes in.

PlanarianHugger - Nice source selection and combination, the sources work well with each other. The combination with the piano, string and bass works nicely. It's a relaxing song.
Kat - This song could fit perfectly in a movie. I like this orchestral style in combination with the source. The part around 2:10 is a bit strange, but good and makes good use of the source.
Messire Cookie - This source is probably the most easy source, but still you managed to get variation in it. It's short but totally not boring.
Realmthree - I like this style, good sample selection. It's a bit short, but I liked every second of it.

Hoboka - This is a nice mix of instruments, they work good with each other.
Hipnotyk - I like the built-up of this song, it sounds scary which is good with this source.
Bundeslang - If Mario would have used your remixing skills to defeat Wart instead of vegetables, he probably got sick earlier.

messire_Cookie – Not sure how electro this is. It evolves slightly though out but still keeps the main aspects of the original. The instruments could sound better but it works. Kind of reminds me of music from the game Scribblenauts.
realmthree – This sounds like techno. It remained faithful to the original and add on to it in a nice way. The way different things were added as it continued prevented staleness. I liked it.
Kat – The story this presents was great. It took something repetitive and made it interesting. The instrument and source change part way through helped with this narrative. Great job.
bundeslang – This sounded to hollow to be enjoyable. The percussion later on didn’t fit the song. It was too repetitive for me to enjoy.
hipnotyk – I love the atmosphere in the song. The background is constantly changing and there are very distinct parts to it. Nice work.
hoboka – I like the interpretation of the original. Keeps it similar but makes it different at the same time. It works well.

realmthree - Nice and MnP techno remix! Really like the arps and other rythmic synths used. Bit on the short side but no biggie for me personally.

Kat- I found the vocals and sfx to be distracting...kinda sounded like the dude was jacking off for the first 15 seconds or so haha...maybe I'm just a deprived sicko :I. Moving on! The mood and the instrumentation is top notch! Feels like a mixture of Spaghetti Western and Horror influences. Very good choir samples and I personally liked the E-guitar sample. The marimbas are a nice touch too. Mario's Mission, is a tad on the liberal side, but it's within allowable MnP standards =p

PlanarianHugger - There was a lot of clipping towards the end. But the arrangement idea is pretty cool! I really like the E-keyboard sample, but the other piano is very MIDI sounding. The bass has a very nostalgic feel :) - over all not too shabby.

meshire_cookie - Was tied at 3rd place for me, but felt that PlanarianHugger's idea of mixing the 3 endings was the selling point for me. Regardless, this is a pretty dang swag remix. Love the energy and pacing!

bundeslang - It's creative! And the brass idea is cool :D

hipnotyk - this sucks...

Your Mix Tape is In Another Castle probably would've taken 1st place if this wasn't a BONUS :) - loooove the atmospheric idea idea. It actually feels MnP, despite being rather liberal, probably due to the mood and pacing being retained nicely. Instruments are all fun to listen to, as well. And man that ending is teh creepies.

A bit tight on time for comments, so I'll keep it short(and hopefully toss some better ones in the topic):

realmthree - Had a very classic techno/trance vibe to it and worked with the original theme pretty well.

PlanarianHugger - Very relaxing and a nice mix of the themes.

messire_Cookie - Not bad at all, some of the staccatos at the beginning felt a little off, but once I got used to it it wasn't that noticeable.

bundeslang - Short and too the point. It felt a little empty at times, but it's a very bare-bones theme anyways. It was almost a third place for me.

hoboka - Probably would've earned 1st place if not for being a bonus. A nice take on a very recognizable theme.

hipnotyk - Loved the atmosphere you have going on here.
