SC Mike: Nice instrumentation, still sounds fakey, especially the bass, but it probably would have been worse at higher speeds. I like the wood blocks' tone, though they're a bit piercing. Some nice ideas in the original breakdown, though I liked the second part more than the first.

gercr: I don't think the orchestral stuff worked, it sounds way too fake, but if you turned up the fakeness even further it might go better with the synths. Nice instrumentation otherwise, fairly good production. Sounds a bit too manic in places, could probably have been slowed down a notch.

Mokram: Nice beat! Very fun arrangement. Soundscape was pretty thin, though. Nice job transcribing all the parts pretty accurately.

gercr - loved that retro feel, particularly the choirs, it really helps retain the source tune for me. The guitar sample is actually pretty good for a synth - I kinda want that sample. Really bad ass percussion and a very FF BOSS feeling remix to me and stays MnP enough for my tastes :P

supercoolmike - Pretty decent orchestration - I think the lead instruments should've been heavier, but I understand the need to keep that EQ balanced. Still, I really dig the notation and the very MnP feelz. Another strong entry mike!

DjMokram - This is a wicked remix, however I felt that it deviated too far from the source - the mood feels a lot lighter than a last-boss feeling. Since MnP is about retaining the mood, pacing and such, I had to make the call and put you on 3rd place. Regardless, I really enjoyed this remix and though I am no expert at OCR guidelines (the 15+ rejections are testament to such), I think you should try submitting this to the panel just to see. I have a feeling that the other voters are gonna put you in 1st for your production value, which is just as viable a reason, but since I am the coordinator of this compo, I have to follow my own rules, even if they're kinda dumb and superfluous. Thanks for participating DjMokram - I humbly encourage you to participate again!!

MindWanderer - The feeling and mode are definitely retained, so that's a good thing and the chiptunes are real cool. I wasn't particularly a fan of the wobble bass/low pattern thing, I think it hogged most of the EQ space and could've benefited from being pushed back. And since the other guys made some (or a lot of) effort to reinterpret things, I had to slot you in on fourth. Still, good effort!

evktalo - it's cool in a minimalistic way, I can understand why you wanted your entry to be designated as a Bonus theme. There needs to be a lot more - I wanna hear moar!! :3

MindWanderer - even if u didn't have time to do what you wanted, i think this is what it could have sounded if the game was ever ported to the gameboy. that's always cool to hear.

Gercr - I think the hybrid you attempted here was actually pretty cool. Got a guitar ( I think) for the bass, orchestral for the mids/ background and with the synth's as the melodies. Its just that the whole song sounds muffled, like you didn't want it to be too loud or something. I don't know if i said that correctly though but either way, I enjoyed it.

Evktalo - its a shame that you couldn't finish it, but it definitely shows potential.

DjMokram - ya, keeping the song almost identical to the original source is challenging, but I feel that's where this compo shines. To see MANY of the SAME versions is a reward of itself. As for your song, I think what you did was pretty tight. It feels like you changed the original setting of the fight from medieval to somewhere in the future.
