karhubiisi was a very interesting and unusual mix that I was surprised to see working AND keeping the spirit of the original!

Couldn't really tell you why I liked DayDreamer... I just did! I guess it was very evocative! It makes you visualize busy marketplaces and tall towers. That kind of thing!

Serdian Memories had some interesting developments with the percussion, and that part at the end was very nice.

evktalo - The most interpretation without straying too far from source mood and feel. Love that Carribean feel and crunchy compression on the guitar and synthy pads. The ending is a bit weird though, it sounds as though it was meant to be cut but was forgotten lol.

gercr - Has a carnival-ish feel but doesn't stray too far from the MnP feel. Lots of interesting and vibrant samples here which gives it a very fleshed out feel; I think some pitch bending on the synth would've made it even more cool :P - still this is a pretty sweet interpretation, nice work gercr!

supercoolmike - there is a LOT of re-interpretation here that's going past the MnP threshold imo - which would've worked better for you in PRC; especially since the mood has been altered from a relaxed theme to something more epic/marchband music - the source tune doesn't really convey these feelings at all...so yeah. Still with that being said, the execution and production is pretty decent and the evolution of the composition is pretty swag. Which is why you earned a 3rd place vote for me ^^

Kat - Not bad for someone new to remixing. I felt that it was a bit too slow in the start up and the mix could've used a volume boost on the Master; the instruments are a cool choice nevertheless. I sense a lot of potential in you so keep at it and you'll get there!!

DimWiddy- This is pretty decent take and I definitely would tie it for third place if the voting system would let do that lol. That bass is way funky and the flute and lead synth are really swag. I like the energy too! Keep at it and you'll be stealing votes in no time!

I don't really review things so apologies if my comments don't sound like much.

Kat - I like your rendition that shows just how calmly a song can be portrayed. my sense of ease deepens even when the drums come in near the end.

Gercr - I dig the old west piano. Kinda wished the rest of the instruments were in a old western bar saloon type style, that be pretty cool... Of course not to diss the other instruments you used, I also really like the synth used for the melody.

Evktalo - Very cool effects used in this rendition, at first I thought my speakers were going out on me, but found out it was the song (lol). distorted guitars can sound really good or really bad, but you made it work.

Hectictesseract (DimWiddy) - This makes me feel like I'm chillin at a beach or waiting somewhere as the song goes by, the day transitions to night.

Like the intro with the bells/musicbox sounds. In general the orchestral sounds work nicely with this song. You might want to try add a bit more dynamics (playing around with note velocity and volume swells). I'm not too sure about the rhythm/beat you added (I'd probably would have set the pulse with an instrument in stead ;)) but overall a great sounding entry with a good atmosphere! Also the break was a very nice touch, good job!

Kat

Good to see that Kat had the same idea as supercoolmike, turning it into an orchestral piece! It leans a bit more on percussion and harp and less on strings, makes for an interesting comparison with supercoolmike's. Also here a drumbeat that I'm not too sure about, but that might be just my opinion that slower paced symphonic music doesn't really need drums :) Overall enjoyable!

gercr

Gercr uses different instruments (non orchestral), with piano and an acoustic bass. That also works well. Some nice details in the flute but you might want to give the flute player some space to breathe; (s)he has to play quite long stretches now without breathing space! Same goes for the synth lead in the second part; some notes feel a bit long. Also the piano sounds a bit too artificial (too much chorus), a more acoustic one would maybe make things a bit more realistic. Still overall a good song and good to hear something different from the orchestral entries :)

evktalo

This song goes for a more artistic approach with again a nice vibe going on. The C64 drums work well and although I'm in general favor of clean sounds the slightly distorted sounds work well here. Good variations added too, and they keep the song fresh. Interesting approach that works well and gives the source track a lively vibe. Only please cut the guitar amp noise at the end ;)

hectictesseract

Sets the pace with a nice dreamy sound palette, sounding really smooth. The steeldrums sound more like a telephone ringing tho. so finding a better alternative for that wouldn't hurt :) Overall the atmosphere is well kept and sounds really pleasant and soothing. Bass might be a tiny bit too loud tho.
