Souperion - love the creepy synth textures in this. vocal thingy was an excellent thematically appropriate inclusion. much dread

Wassup - Great first entry! Instrumentation is really on point here, it really reminds me of something that could have appeared in a WW-SS era console Zelda

Hoboka - do what I did and pick something super obvious like "a scene on the lid of a sleeper's eye" and find out a few days later that this title is actually used on the soundtrack lol

TVG - I'm so hungry I could eat an octorok!

Chalis - too bad this isn't finished I like where you're going with it

Ok let's be real, i'm surprised i didn't make mine a bonus, if i knew i was going to make a troll. Oh well..

After thinking long and hard, i think i might go with Souperion as my choice of winner. Let's take it from the top.

Hoboka - Really like the flute patch, it's very atmospheric to the track. Also love how you kept it faithful to the original while putting your own spin on it, i thought that was nice. The only complaint i have with yours, is that it's a bit too basic, it could do with a few more sounds here and there. However though i love your ideas here, especially enough to make you third place, great job!

Wassup Thunder - The sense of originality was great here, i love the nice range of percussion, and the rather electronic styled fade in's, while still retaining the really nice orchestral feel. It's definitely got that melody too, you made that the star, which i also like. If i had to give one complaint, it would be the sounds in general, i feel like they can get a bit too clustered, you need to space it out, and maybe add a bit more reverb. This one though, don't change my overall view. You've done a great job with this, enough to be second place. Great job!

Souperion - I picked you first mainly for the arrangement. The arrangement is awesome, i love how you build it up with different sections, while still keeping the core melody in tact, i love it. The space was great, especially with the use of melodic elements, it was just soo good. The only minor flaw i have, and yes it's very minor, is the breath sounds. I detected a few breath sounds every now and again, which felt a little too weird. Don't take it the wrong way though, the track is still awesome, and especially good enough for me to put you as first. Well done!

Challis - Apart from the cool effects sprinkled here and there with different instruments, which i thought was a nice touch, majority of the original audio is kept, which is fine and all, but it's not really interpretation. Take away the beats and flourishes and it's straight up the original sound source. Now this is not a bad thing, trap remixes can sound lit, especially yours, and i do like this a lot, but in terms of MnP it was too much use of the original source, and not so much arrangement. Don't take this the wrong way, you did a great job!

Well Chalis, I'd have made you first if you made this longer with a bit of development, as it is I have to slap you in 3rd. The MnP spirit was most captured, but the length and effort weren't quite to match with the other 2 entries vying for the 3 spots. Still, great to see you back man. I think everyone would SLAP the SHIT OUT OF ME if I put you in 1st place, but I was so damn tempted. It's just...too...short...wahhhhhhhh WaLuigi? Oh I Missed!!

Wassup Thunder -
So to the actual review: Your rhythmic instruments and textures were astounding. The bells, the egyptian/middle eastern styled instruments were mostly well executed - Excellent ideas and well done. But I ALMOST slapped you in 2nd place because of that organ at the 2nd half, where it progressively got louder. It sounded way better when it wasn't exposed, as it is kinda shrill and the quality is PS1 level on it. I love to use shitty organ samples too, so I get why wanted to use it in that fashion, but even in 2007, I was being called out for those kind of mistakes. Well, you still got 1st from me, so it's not the biggest faux pas. We'll see what the rest think haha.

Souperion - So you lost 1st place by a tinnny margin. Since you and Souperion made excellent takes, it falls to minor gripes. I ALMOST slapped you in 1st. I'm sorry man I had to make a choice T_T... Speaking of minor gripes...it was those dry and dissonant violins were a little too hammed up for the context that you were aiming for; I understand WHY you needed them to be dissonant, to give us some horror/mystery vibes, but I think if you reduced the dissonance by 10% it'd have been SWELL (plus slapped on a ton of ambient reverb on 'em). Otherwise, "Nameless Trepidation" touted massively better production than everyone else here. The vocal lead is what sold it for me mainly. Brilliant idea there and nice execution with it.

Like everyone's approach, but felt that these, in this order, best captured the mood and atmosphere of the original source and in-game context.
