JohnGabrielOOK - The piano sounds amazing... not only the notes it plays but also the instrument itself sounded very pleasant. I loved the arps-into-chords, where the notes first started out "lonely", but then got together to complete the sound. Great work!

TVG - Had some discussion with starla about the genre; I don't really know what Industrial Techno is supposed to sound like, but the resulting sound was much more pleasant than I expected either way. Not much a fan of the repetition, but I guess that's one of the pillars of techno^^ Nice one!

Sansero - What's that in the background? A kick with a ton of reverb? An explosion? Can't tell for sure, but it created a nice effect. If I'm being honest, the melody felt a bit random; didn't really feel it lead me anywhere. Then again, it's totally fitting the theme. GJ!

JohnGabrielUK: Very beautiful. Really nice and calm. I like how the music builds up and how it does calm again.

Vaiaphraim: First I was like "What? No Chiptunes Vaia?" But the chiptune sounds followed shortly after^^

TheVideoGamer: I'm normally not the biggest fan of techno, but this one was quite nice.

@Vaia - I don't know actually. I think it's played in smaller venue's though, but this is from the research i've done.

@Starla - I think because there is too many subsets of industrial music, it's hard to tell what is and isn't industrial music. This might be closer to Aggrotech, or something even though. tt's definitely got the characteristics of industrial music. I've listened to a lot of genres, and in my ears it sounds closer to Industrial Music in my mind. Who knows, it could be a subgenre thing.

@Vaia - I tried to add repetition to make up for the blandness and simplicity of the image. With such extreme minimalism in the photos, it's hard to make something detailed out of the pictures. I tried my best i guess.

@Everyone - Thanks for the kind words!

Now then...

TheVideoGamer - Routed through to fine a chord stab on my usual VST's, to make something that is very dark, but very forward. I just wanted it to go, without any detailed thought or complexities. Just power on through, non-stop. The reason for this comes directly from the plain whiteness of the photos. It's a white wall, nothing else. Very simplistic, almost like extremist art, so i had engrained some of the elements in that within the music. So what results is a consistent repetitive non-stop industrial techno number, that just keeps going. There is some ambience here, but that's because i wanted to make the stabs more exciting and textured. It's a fun piece sure, even if not everyone likes it.

JohnGabrielUK - Very emotionally charged, lots of great movement in the piano. In some ways, kind of cute. The strings really do make it sound like a breath of air. It sounds like it belongs on some Indie game it's great. Beautiful work!

Vaiaphraim - Ooh very EDM. I dig the drums here, it's very dark and spooky. Almost similar to my track in genre. Maybe with a hint of 80's retro. Lovely melodic ideas. The white wall vocal sample is a little overused for me, maybe it works better as background element. The whole thing is very well produced however. Well done!

Sansero - Ooh soft and spacious, this is very fitting. Really dig the slow pads in the background. love how everything evolves, the space is just there. Love this one, well done!

Top 3 - JohnGabrielUK, Sansero, Vaiaphraim.

Only 4 entrants, and all of them were really good. So no need to add all the awesome's and such jazz.

Hey all, even though I didn't submit this week I'm making up for lack of commenting/voting from last time.

TVG: HUGE distortion, almost too much, and I *like* listening to Noise. I think the reason it's harsh is because the emphasis is so much on the mid-highs without big bass to balance it out. I do like the arrangement, it has a good progression of driving beat and rise to keep the energy going.

John: Nice thematic soundtrack, good suspensions and the instruments sound really nice. I really like the tempo slowdown. It is a little "generic", but I think that is something that you could polish up later. The foundation here is strong and has that warm, nostalgic feel to it. Reminds me a lot of Curtis Schweitzer's soundtrack to Starbound.

Vaia: I actually really think this is cool. The voice clip sets up a scenario and adds a ton of interest. Good beats and instruments sound really nice and clean. Only thing I'd ask for us to make everything a little more up front, since it sounds a little distant. Bass choice is good, this is up there.

Sansero: A little minimalistic but I thought it was fine. There was a part that almost sounded like breathing - that was an interesting touch and I hope to see more flair like that in the future from you as you participate more. Melody was minimal but enough to set tonality and lead us in a meandering direction which is exactly the point of ambient music. Good job.
