Hey lads I’m still away on my 2 week holiday, so I had zero chance of participating, but I can still vote and write thoughts like last time, so here goes. This is also on mobile so forgive me.
Antik - That is a killer sample wow. You just know how to sample damn. Those drums are so 90s it hurts, this is some proper oldschool. Amazing effects too, absolutely wonderful. Well done!
Vaiaphraim - Interesting chords going on, it’s probably the most usual sounding Vaia progression I’ve heard. It still sounds great though it’s a compliment. I love how it alternates between modern production styles and retro VGM, I feel like I’m in an 80s arcade machine right now but with EDM. The melody is awesome too, if bangs hard but yet has a lot of great melody ideas. Well done!
Adreqi - Loving the dynamics on the piano, it sounds so expressive which to be fair I expected from you, but this is like on a whole another level. I love how it keeps on building, with strings and harps being introduced as well as more dynamics. It’s so cinematic and beautiful I absolutely love it. Well done!
LBApophis - That is a cool filter. The sample is quite hard hitting, very lo-fi but yet still dark. The beat is sick, downtempo but yet with attitude. I love the effects on this one, there is so many cool changes and manipulated sounds it’s calming but yet hard at the same time. Awesome stuff mate, well done!
Eidolon Ethos - Love those thick swelled pads, really feel like I’m in a wasteland of some sort. The pads almost rattle my brain. Love the drums as always, that kick is mixed really nicely. The chords are both creepy but strangely calming, and also eerie. It doesn’t feel like the end is near, yet I get that vibe. Absolutely lovey stuff, well done!
AthatThatGuy - Not even an intro, it’s the Athan way lol. Insanely hard hitting stuff, it sounds like an earthquake is on its way. Lots of tempo changes this week, I assumed we would start with DnB but we ended up with Garage instead. Vocals are killer, you pick the best raps for this. The track is just nicely mixed too, it’s an absolutely banger with an even catchier bassline. Well done!
UrinalPooper - 16 seconds over oo. Looks like Antik will have your soul. Loving the tones for this track, very long and drawn out, we are going the intense psychedelic route this week. The stereo panning is sick too, so wide. Lots of sick changes, intense rock vibes with killer soloing. Well done!
Krirbs - I initially thought there was something wrong with the track lol. But no this is all intentional, it sounds very cool. I’m liking these hip hop drums, it’s very tightly mixed. The intense stutter effects make this really sick, it’s like hip-hop but on steroids. The mix is great, and the changes are fire. Loving the chords towards the end, well done!
Relax.D - Cool guitar tone, got a lot of high end, I dig it. Vocals are great, but maybe a tiny bit loud, but that’s it. Love the drums, whole track feels more like Indie rock but with a bit of an experimental edge. We’re just missing a bassline to compliment it, but aside from that I love it, it’s fire stuff. Well done!
Lukeloww - Loving the slow filters, really hypes me up for the banger. We don’t even anticipate the drums, it’s just there. The Arabs are awesome, and the mix is really in your face but not too overblown. The track really is the pinnacle of Luke techno. Amazing arrangement, lots of sick changes it’s awesome. Maybe a stronger kick would work here, but what I’m hearing at the moment is good enough. It’s still absolutely fire though regardless I love it. Well done!
Nukage - Last one of the round, and it’s a sneaky one from Nuke. Intro is fire, great arps and pads this already is setting me up for a killer drop. Even before the drop we hear some sick growls, Nuke means business. The way you’ve built it up is interesting, it’s more of a granular build. The drop is super cool, because you essentially made Metal music but with an entirely EDM arrangement. It’s like Dubstep but made out of metal guitars and drums. It’s interesting because it’s really blurring these two genres. Long story short, this was an absolute banger, with some killer growls. Well done!
