Hey guys sorry i wasn't here last week i had something on, but i did listen to the entries, and here's my thoughts on them. I wanted to do this much sooner, but i was weirdly having problems with Rvdz's entry, so i ended up waiting to see if it had fixed itself. It hadn't, so i just continued and skipped to where i needed to be. Regardless here's my thoughts:
Rubap - Sick singing, this is some serious indie stuff here. Killer chords, kind of jazzy, and great melodies! Hard to keep up with what you're saying, because you speak so fast in conjunction with the guitar, but it's still so cool. Love this one a lot, well done!
Ricardomenegasso - DEEEP. This is one deep mix, i love the basslines in this, and the pads are airy and spacious. It feels like i should be drifting off to sleep, but yet it's mixed with all the funky elements, including the rich 303 sounds, that also make me want to dance. It's quite psychedlic in a way. I love it a lot, it's just awesome stuff mate. Well done!
Antik - Man you pick the most coolest samples, this is a very trippy psychedlic sample, for you to flip this fire ass oldschool hip-hop beat to. The beat is so beautifull mixed, and the vibe is smooth as hell. Absolutely wonderful, well done!
AthanThatGuy - DAYUMN not even an intro. Man that is one hell of a sub, this vibe is also smooth. But more like a mix of dirty yet smooth. The beat is like a mix of trap music meets garage, and the chords are kind of atmospheric, i just love this genre fusion. Amazing mix too, well done!
UrinalPooper - Pooper going even harder than ever before, those guitar tones are dirty as hell. It doesn't even sound punky, it sounds very doom metal like. This theme really brought out the darkness in pooper. Drums are quiet in this one not gonna lie, but i don't know if it's intentional. What i do love is the singing, and of course the humorous lyrics you are known for. This is just great, what can i say. Well done!
Krirbs - Pretty guitar, processed in such a nice way, it sounds very lo-fi and calm. The harmonica was an interesting touch, especially for this style, because the guitar playing feels more rock music, but the harmonica makes it more country. EIther way it's beautiful. The drums are on the quiet side for this, however i think it's beneficial to the style as it's very lo-fi and shoegazey in a way, so it's all about the calmness. It's just wonderful stuff mate, well done!
Rvdz - So much intricate percussion in thhis, it really feels very dynamic. Not often to have a long drum intro from you, but this all gets thrown out when those synth chords and funky bass licks come in. My god you just know how to make funky music so well. Not one part of the song didn't make me move, this is just excellent groovy funk. Absolutely wonderful stuff, well done!
Gercr - Another funky jam from you, with some great drum sounds, and killer pedal work. Always love me a good use of a guitar pedal, especially for something this funky. I still don't know how you manage to do this in such short amount of time it's so impressive, particularly with how catchy the melodies are. Love this one a lot, well done!
LBApophis - Ooh new artist name? Or is this someone you're repping? Loving those chords man, it's so cold and atmospheric. The synth patches in this one are just amazing. I feel like i'm relaxing, but yet i should be dancing at the same time, especially with how hard hitting it sounds. That is one killer bass sound it rattles in my brain. That drop was amazing, this is proper drum and bass from it's core. It totally sounds like something DJ Fresh would be doing it's so good. Excellent stuff mate, well done!
Nukage - I'm basing this one the render shared on Discord, not on here, as obviously it's an incomplete/failed render. This one starts out brooding with some very dark and cold synths, and a vocal work that is very cool, because it doesn't align with the mallet patch, yet it works exceptionally well. The buildup in this one is great, it's slow, but it really makes you feel every ounce of darkness this track brings. It's got such a great atmosphere, whole thing is just killer. Also love the metal drop too, yeah it's a little quieter than the buildup, but the sound is just amazing. Whole thing is awesome, well done!
Harvey - Sick techno beats, lovely basslines. I really feel like i'm in some kind of Sci-Fi game. Like the Terminator but more futuristic. The mixing is really great in this, the arp work is very tasty, and the arrangement is very tight. Lots of risers in this, but it didn't ruin the experience for me. Lovely stuff, well done!
MyNewEyes - Shoegazey les goo. I feel like i'm on a cloud it's so pretty. The reverb is so nicely done, and the licks are that perfect balance of chill, but mildly unsettling. It really does feel airy, the effects are just great. Love the atmosphere a lot, it's lovely, well done!
Vaiaphraim - RPG vibes. Loving the unique time signatures here, it really feels like the rhythms aren't locked to 4/4, or if they are, it's designed to mess with you so you feel like it's going all over the place. That flue melody is wonderful, the orchestration is on point. This one seems to be missing a bit of a bassline, but i understand it can be hard to make one using an orchestra sound pallette, and the void is kind of filled with the timpani so it's not too bad. Either way whole thing is amazing, absolutely love the melodies in this one, well done!
LukeLoww - Cool guitar licks, this is definately got that reggae influence, even if the guitar noodles don't scream it. It's mainly the beat that remind me of reggae. I feel like i'm in the state of the unknown, it's such a cool riff. Weirdly calming, but also very groovy. Wasn't expecting the 808 drums at the end, but i'm all for it. Makes it more hip-hop inspired, the fusion of these genres are soo good. Absolutely lovely stuff, well done!
Relax.D - As is tradition i also include the late entries, including these two (Plus Nuke's proper render). Loving the blips in this, it feels part airy, but cyber sounding. The vocal work is very interesting, it's autotuned, but in a more like a experimental way, than the traditional way. The 808 beats are really nice too, it's super unique and interesting i really dig it! Well done!
Taiine - Last one of the night! Love the calming intro, quite emotional even if the style of music is EDM. It's a really nice buildup really, it fades in into something kind of epic. The music box sounds are something you would never expect for this, yet it just works so well. That drop was wtf, it sounds so clean! It's also such a stark contrast, to go from this emotive electric piano type sound, into just straight up 2-step garage. Absolutely killer mix and great arrangement, well done!
