Alright guys, since I missed the party, i'm gonna provide some thoughts to each track below. Hope you enjoyed your time without me. I may make it next week, it just depends on my schedule, but either way if I don't, i'll listen to the entries afterwards. Thanks for all the kind words on my entry!
dione bigode - Sick piano chords, and drum percs. It sounds kind of Latin in some ways, maybe even Bossa Nova inspired. I love the syncopation, it feels very swing like, despite there being no swing function being used. I love the dynamics, it stops and starts, but with a lot of different sounds. Some parts of the piano also has a nice tremelo effect going on. It just sounds very cool, but very funky. Very abrupt end, but Well done!
Relax.D - Loving those drum machine sounds, that snare is very reverb heavy. I like the creepy melodies here, it feels very much like an experimental electro piece. Kind of unusual sounding, but yet it has some great melodies. Vocals also are great too. Well done!
Nukage - Really great stutter effects going on, it sounds like were building up to a hard hitting metal track, even though the synths remind me a lot of synthwave. I really feel like were in a dark open road somewhere. The arps are a delight, especially in the way you filter it. Very long intro this week, you don't usually go this calm, unless it's either live or you're doing a new genre. Either way it sounds sick, I love the whole thing, very synthwavey. Drop was also very hard hitting, I absolutely love it. Whole thing is absolutely fire, well done!
Eidolon Ethos - Welcome new guy, I don't think I've heard your music yet, i'm loving these dark pads, and soft beats. Also feels like were going for a synthwave theme, it totally feel the 80's influence here, it's strong. The kick is very beefy, it works extremely well with the windy pads. Loving the developments here, more of a slow type, but it's very satisfying. Whole thing feels calming, great melodies, for a first entry this was extremely fire stuff. Also an abrupt end, but well done!
Vaiaphraim - Back to the Yamaha, kicking us off with a very catchy horn section. Feels very much like action music for an RPG, perhaps a little slower than a typical fight theme, but regardless there is some very catchy melodies going on. Not a lot of bass here, but I know the horns are fulfilling that role. It's just got some really great sections, very hummable. Whole thing is lovely, well done!
Krirbs - Loving this lo-fi feel. Feels like it's somewhat deliberate. Very calming, kind of shoegaze like, but also has a lot of a indie feel too. The melody is very much in the background, but I think it's all intentional. Either way, it's extremely cool and interesting. I like it a lot, well done!
AthanThatGuy - Interesting choirs, I don't know if it's a sample, or a VST, i'm leaning towards a vocaloid plugin. Loving the voices in this, it adds a bit more intensity in this hard trap feel, something I haven't really heard from you in a while. The track has a sick 808, and a very great horn melody (Likely a sample). Whole thing is fire, that sub just graces my ears really nicely. Well done!
LBApophis - This seems to be horn week, so many tracks have brought in the horns. Now I wasn't expecting the DnB woah, this is very much oldschool meets newschool. The horn sample is just absolutely great, and it blends so well with the break. The bassline is a bit aggressive, maybe too much with the sample, however it doesn't ruin the track, it's just a minor detail. Still though, the whole thing is insanely good, the sample just works really well. Love this one a lot, well done!
Adreqi - Acid from Adreqi, wow that is not common. The acid actually sounds fire, this could totally fit in a racing game, especially that DnB beat, and the piano. The piano has quite the hopeful mood, I feel like something good is coming, even though I feel this is more for a racing game. I love the slow rising synths, adds that trance element. Despite It being fast and acidic, you still find time for a sweet cinematic melody. Whole thing is absolutely wonderful, so many incredible melodies, and the mix is so great. Absolutely fire, well done!
Antik - Very chill oldschool style pads, and a lovely subs. Of course with a sub like that it was gonna go the jungle route, although mildly slow for jungle. Maybe more early Breakbeat Hardcore, like 1992 style. The vocal samples are a lovely touch, and the track has the right combination of chill and groovy. Love this one a lot, well done!
Boomer - Last one of the night! Those are some very hard hitting synths, in a way it's kind of industrial sounding, despite the metal kick. We also bring in a hard hitting trance kick, but my god I think you gained it up a bit too hard. Lovely don't get me wrong, just perhaps clipping a little. Either way, the melodies are really nice, it has more of a straight forward hardcore feel, than your normal tracks, where it's very rhythmically varied. This one feels closer to a Untz kind of vibe. Still amazing though, that synth is wonderful. Either with my critiques, the whole thing is dark and haunting, but with a great modulated synth. Love it a lot, well done!
