Well I decided I should remix this song, but I should make it a challenge too, so I limited myself to create all the sounds in this song using only raw squarewaves. Of course, I applied all sorts of effects and stuff to them, and in the end, it turned out to be very fun and I really enjoy the results. Even some of the drums are made out of a raw squarewave. (also, no drumloops)
I did this in some kind of electro/8-bit style, with a heavy influence from my favorite electronic music band EVER: Kraftwerk. The nods are very apparent in there, but I also borrowed elements from some of my favorite old school electro producers, like Model 500.
Anyways enough with the explanations, just enjoy this little voyage into old school sounds :).
The Least Weasel (mustela nivalis) is the smallest member of the genus Mustela, and indeed in the entire order Carnivora. Weasels may vary in length from fifteen to thirty-five centimeters (six to fourteen inches). This, you can imagine, makes for very, very small paws. However, this does not stop some subspecies (mustela rubbisha) from attempting to play guitar.
Thankfully, they are very rarely able to properly record their playing and usually must settle with sampled guitars. The result is much more palatable, trust us.
The Nick (homo awesomis), on the other hand, is brilliant on the bass and the improvisation thereof.
As I was lurking across the OCR boards I came across this PRC. 119 already... Wow.
Anyway, I knew the source a bit from a few years back and decided to fiddle a bit with it. Came up with a pretty decent tune. It's been a while, but here's my submission.
Hardbass. Like the old days. ;)

I never played the game so didnt really have an inspiration for this, but when i played the tune through a few times and tried to make it into a relaxed piano piece but after realiseing just how happy the tune was I just went crazy with it and this is how it turned out, although a bit over the top maybe.... hehe ^-^

This originally started off as a lullaby, but I got bored with the idea and shelved it. Then I tried an classical piece, which morphed into a march. I ended up tossing that as well, due to how slow-working I was on it. The final product sticks to the first idea, with tiny remnants of the other two for progression.
OMG!!! LATE ENTRY!! (yeah, that ryhmes on purpose.)
After listening to the source, I got this image of a large field with trees here and there. It was early morning before the sun rose and the mist hung low to the ground. Of course this is primetime for adventures to head out on a whirlwind journey into the unknown! As they march across the field the sun crests over the horizon and the mist breaks away.
