A thing is sure, that was a weird but cool round. The source was a mess to play with, and sample-based rounds are really fun to do.
Alas, in those kind of challenges, it is quite hard to keep the spirit of the original song while remixing. And that's what happened here. Even me, I couldn't keep anything that source had to express, as it was really hard to catch.
So yeah, props to everyone that posted, this was truly a hard one.

Dex surprised me. It's very modern Sonic-alike, and very rich. His remix was clean and tidy, samples were used at the right moment, nice break to keep the momentum, but I think your violins are a little bit loud, I'd have liked to hear more of the drums, they were cool.

Hoboka... Welp it's definitly a remix that you made, even if you used a second accound I'd recognise that kind of shitpost anywhere. Ngl, I laughed really hard, but it's definitly too messy, more than the original source which is an exploit of it's own.
There's a problem with your samples, they feel out of the mix. I think that reducing the volume a bit would have given your remix a bit of consistency that would have made it better.

TheVideoGamer, You remade the track with samples, but as you said, it's low quality and quite.. Cheap. Sounds good but A little more work would have done good.

I hope I wasn't too harsh, and that my participation was good for you, and Nice round everybody !
Boy I can't wait for the next one !

Dex: In the context of PRC this makes more sense. Yeah, Dex left out the vocal stuff, but the musical side of things are just so kosher and there is a lot of sick reinterpetation going on. Seeing as Vatlva is some sort of grid-based real-time action game, "No time for Mistakes" fits the motif perfectly.

ALxR: Now, if this were MnP, I'd be voting AxLR hands down. He did some awesome tweaks to the original concept and is a master-wizz at playing around with samples. I really liked that Breath of Fire 2 remix he did too. Dude's got some serious musical chops too!

TheVideogamer - Hmm nice balance between remixing and preserving the original. If TheVideoGamer were not a BONUS sub, this woulda been so much harder to suss out who's 2nd spot lmao (again, in the context of PRC). Dat beat is sexy. Nice ACTUAL happy hardcore usage too. Dat vocalist is on some serious cocaine lmfao.

Round 411
-----------------

Another great turnout, lets hope this continues for the rest of the season. :)
Props to TVG for the sample pack, t'was a wonderful and refreshing idea.

AxLR: You did a serious tour de force with this mix, subverting expectations with the D&B tease into banging house. Awesome keys sounds and legit goosebumps from the 90s nostalgia. Only gripe is the prod, since the mix gets clippy and saturated as the soundscape fills up. But aside from that, great work.

Dex: Great symphonic rock take with ethnic flourishes giving this remix a distinct personality. Clear guitar tone and a lot of variations on the material for what is the most creative re-interpretation of the source. Love the effort and attention to detail you've put into this arrangement, even tho you didn't use the samples. :P

Hoboka: Monstrous bassline! Diggin' the experimental approach with hectic vocal chops and manic tempo changes switching up in a mad dash to the finish line. Some of the instrument choice contrast with each other, but the mixing is coherent enough to make the song stand whole. Fun concept, albeit a bit short/rushed.

TheVideoGamer: Hardcore goodness from the man himself. Very faithful to the original and funnily enough would also fit into an old school Ridge Racer like a charm. Powerful drums, sharp editing/cuts, brilliant use of effects and a frantic pace for what is essentially happy hardcore cranked up to eleven with gusto.

Ok all 3 of you had some great ideas, however after careful considerations, i picked Dex to win. Let's go from the top.

AxLR - Great stylistic change, you managed to transform a fast busy source, into a slower more funky groove, which is always a good thing. Nice great use of vocal samples too, they fitted well. The problem i have with this, and the reason why it's 3rd place, is the breakbeat and piano is quite heavy, and eats a lot into the mix. I feel you could have used the MIDI and make your own variation of the source, maybe add a M1 piano, and really up the house flavour. Still though, on a positive note, this grooves a lot, so well done!

HoboKa - I love the ambient textures. You really took the source, and made it your in that way, and it's awesome. The bass synths also really took it over the edge, long story short, the originality shines through here. Kudos for keeping the tempo too, sometimes you don't have to completely change it, to make it your own. Now for the bad points, and mainly it was the mix, and the voice samples. The bass synths, got a little overkill in the middle, and there was too much voice samples, so i couldn't really hear the synths, oh and maybe boost the drums too, because they were getting masked. However though, the ambient textures and bass synths, were pretty awesome, so hence, why your second.

Dex - I love how you built a piece, around the chord progression. You didn't use samples (Apart from that one break) and instead made melodies instead. The end result, is that it bops hard. I love how i still recognised the source, while it still sounding original. The only complaint i have, is i would blend the violin a little bit better, it feels a little...how should i say this...stagnant. Again, it's sounds awesome, in the context, and it was definitely needed, just needs to blend a little more. Still though, you did a great job with the remix, and definitely shows why i picked you as first place. Well done!

Sorry, I don't really understand sample-based music, so I'm voting from a pretty uninformed place.

AxLR's piece works. The drums and bass are good, well-sequenced within the piece, and add a lot.

hoboka's piece starts cool with the whoaaas. It feels really weird when the drums come in, though. The drums make it sound like a fast piece, and the vocals make it sound like a slow piece. It's very disorienting to me. It gets pretty trolly toward the end in a funny way.

TVG's piece is fine, I guess? Like I said, I don't really get this genre. The filter movements and changeups are good. I don't like the random screams that are all over the piece. They're too loud, but I doubt I would like them if they were quieter. Still, thanks for the bonus!

AxLR - Nice mix with the samples. Liked this noisy housy take on the source.
Dex - Liked the combination of samples, they are varying very well with the rocking background.
HoboKa - Interesting use of the samples, at some points messy, but it's a funny song.
TheVideoGamer - This is happy hardcore. The drums are amazing and the timing of the used samples is great.
Evktalo - A much slower version of the source, also in a nice way.
(will upload Evktalo's song after voting ends)
