Dex - mah boi, this is stellar even if it's a quick remix. The brass variations, oboe flavoring and punchy drums sold it for me.

Silverpool - NOOOOOO you put SANIC in muh Parasite Eve T_T - however, the remix is a great mashup. You somehow crammed a lot of source tunes and made a real creative reinterpretation. There is some mixing issues in the lower-mid areas. Lowering the EQ shelves of the pads would probably help.

Planarian Hugger - Yes, there is a decent mix job here. But the instruments choices weren't that great imo. Sorry!

TheVideoGamer - Excellent chill cover tune. But as you said, it needs some reinterpretation. The piano sample is especially crisp and has lots of depth.

Silverpool - Wow, this is great! I'm surprised by how well all of those themes fit together and impressed by your ability to put this all together, especially on such short notice. Mix is good too. Drum track is a little repetitive - try throwing in some variations - but other than that, great job!

PlanarianHugger - I see the audio production course paid off. Good stuff!

TVG - Good effort but very similar to the source. Perfect rendition for underscoring - it does its job of establishing the mood and otherwise staying out of the way.

Hoboka - This is pretty good. Early on it made me think you were going to bust out a sweet sax solo over the whole thing, but that never happened. That would have been great.

Ok this one was a tough choice, because all 3 eligible entrants, i can choose from, all had both really great points, and some room for improvement. In the end, i think PlanarianHugger should be the winner.

From the top.

HoboKa - If yours wasn't a bonus, i would actually have you win, because the mix is nice and concise, and features some great pad sounds. The melody and arrangement was dynamic too. It didn't fell, like a rehash or a simple instrument swap, which to be honest, is what i did. I'm not gonna get into a rage though if i don't win, it's all good fun. What kind of sold me, was how you managed to keep things grounded, so we don't go into a tangent, where the source is gone, but still manages to add new ideas and techniques. So what i mean, is that it's a remix of the source, but with more touches added that are not present in the original. Drums were great, really had a nice punch. If i had to point out a flaw, the only one that comes to mind, is the Saxophone. Could have integrated it better, as it's a bit loud, and not used very much. Apart from that though, spot on work!

PlanarianHugger - The reason i picked you to win, is that yours was the best mixed out of the bunch, and also the most engaging. Unlike the original, you slowed it, down and made it a full on chill ambient remix of it. There is also more dynamic swells and sounds that come and go. The pacing is great too. I love how it builds up into a nice big texture, then takes a minute to relax. That reliefs a lot of boredom, quite quickly. The guitar textures was also a nice breath of fresh air. I recognised the source, but with a lot of original ideas so great job on that one! My slight concern, is that it can get a bit close to the threshold, especially when you have soo many ideas going at once. Sometimes it's nice to keep it simple, which yours is rather quite the opposite. The only other concern, is the drums. Better drums would be ideal, but apart form that, the sounds were really good. I really enjoyed the synths, and as a whole it was really engaging, just needs a bit of nuance. Still though, you showcased why i picked you to win, so well done!

Dex - The idea is great. I love how you managed to keep it's flow, but complete overhaul it, to a more orchestral/rock feel, than the original. The original was pure electronica, with a lot of dynamic atmospheric sections. This one, works as a more film cue like sound. The drums were amazing in this composition, which a lot of tracks of yours tend to use. I also liked the strings, and woodwinds. They made a lot interesting changes to the original. I placed you second though, because the mix can get a bit loud at parts. Especially the piano/synth combo. Also the lack of bass, is quite jarring, especially with these strong beats. Besides that though, i really enjoyed it, and loved the creativity, especially those drums! Great job!!

Silverpool64 - Out of all of them, i would probably say yours is the most unique. Now with so many sources to choose from, like your approach, you would think that the overally main source, would be lost. This isn't the case, as for the most part, the Parasite Eve composition remains intact for it's runtime. I loved how you sped it up from the original. It made a significant change from the original, and the more i listen to it, the more i like it at this speed. When i heard the other sources i kind of got a bit of chills, because the melodies work soooo well in this context. The sound choices were great too. I loved the bells and pads, they were the highlight. Now sadly for the problems, and the big one, is the mix. Now it's definitely and improvement yes, but the mix is very loud. So many melodic elements are conflicting with each other, to where things overlap. The track itself is great, just the mixing gets a bit much. I think it's similar to what i said with PlanarianHuggers track, in that sometimes or most times simplicity is the way to go. If you would have simplified things, it might have worked out better. Don't see this as a negative, like i said you have soo much creativity, and some really well produced sounds! So take that as a compliment! Great job!

Hoboka - Defiantly captures the New York police vibe with the saxophone selling it.
TheVideoGamer - Works well as an atmospheric loop but small changes loop to loop keeps it from getting repetitive. Nothing drastic but a small element here there will add to the atmosphere with it getting stale.
Dex - I like the use of dynamics to keep interest going through the loop. The little background elements that were added made the piece feel different from the original with out taking away the atmosphere of the original.
Silverpool - You are only third on this list because I feel in the spirit of the competition it should be judged on the use of the choose source. If this was not the case, this was my favorite one. It sounds great and I enjoy the way you mixed the multiple sources as I enjoy doing that myself. But because of that I can't in good faith rate this above third place.

PlanarianHugger: I love the sound choices! It sounds really pretty! I like how the second half added to the first half.

Dex: I like the drums! Did you record them live? I think this would win MnP, but I felt like PlanarianHugger branched out more.

TheVideoGamer: Very repetitive, but I like how you stuck close to the source.

hoboka: I like the saxophone! I also like how you tweaked some of the arpeggiation.
