Esperado - Nice that you slowed down the source. Next time if you plan to beat Skull Man quickly you should use Dust Crusher, than you can do it in less than a minute :P.
Evktalo - It's hard to recognize the source if you didn't play the game, but I hear it in the song as I played the game several times (and did a mix for this one as well). It is a fun idea.
Jorito - This style works very good with the source, I liked how you arranged it. The end is a bit abrupt.
Showroom Dummy - Everytime you show up you post an awesome mix and this time is not different. Very good and creative use of the source.

Showroom_Dummy: funky and groovy as hell, digging this! Takes a while to build up. I like the raspy bass synth sound, very groovy. The chipsounds you added are also a nice touch. The lead from 1:01-1:10. might be a bit too staccato and the instrument is a bit flat (doesn't modulate or anything). Nice touch with the melody around 1:20 tho! Great breaks in there too! The only downside I can think of is that there are some off-key notes in the lead (of which I'm not a fan). But overall a highly enjoyable track!

Jorito: as you said you didn't have much time, and it shows! This is the most slapdash song you did and also the mix is no way up to standards! Still quite like the track overall :P

bundeslang: not exactly my style of music, but still an original take on the theme. The acid arp and the Megaman lead seems to conflict and be off-key at times around 0:42-1:04(and like stated before I'm not a fan of that). The distorted kick seems buried behind the rest of the sound. Still I can imagine this going into a kind of party anthem theme (around 1:07). Seems an interesting direction :) For the lead around 2:00 I'd suggest using a different instrument if you wanna keep up the party sound. The ending is a tad weird tho. Keep working on it, I see progress :)

evktalo: hard to judge this one because the meat (lead) is missing and imaging the distorted guitar is hard for me even though I heard the original song a lot. So about the stuff I can hear... well, I like the drum sounds and drum patterns, they sound cool. The bass sounds a bit repetitive and also a bit bass heavy. I can imagine that in your head it sounds fantastic, it's just too hard to make it out from this track. Very interested in hearing the finished version tho :)

esperado: really chill take on the quite upbeat original! Nice dreamy intro, and when the main part kicks in around 0:42, the drums combined with the flute melody works well. This part does feel a bit thin tho (not much more happening than drums + bass + flute), could use some more filling. The bassline is a bit too repetitive and staccato to me (longer notes would have worked better IMHO, maybe on an acoustic bass). Nice 'n soothing tune, albeit a bit short.

Pretty tough to pick between Bone To Pick and Chipped Bone, both were quite good.

Bone to Pick - a solid hard rock take on the theme. Nice synths & organ especially. Good variation on the original.

Chipped Bone - really fun chip & beats & ep arrangement. I really like the combo. Sometimes the clap (when it's quieter) sounds a bit powerless & vanilla, it's such an often-heard sound it stands out a bit, but overall the beat is good (the more processed clap sound sounds good too). There's some uncomfortable off-harmony bits, such as the EP repeating the backing chords 2:07-2:21 which in itself is good but it conflicts with the bass at points & I think the lead too at points. Regardless, I loved the funky feel, it was a good way to reinterpret the tune.

Short Fight - tuned percussion was a cool way to do the theme. Nice flutes as well! The mix is very quiet!

The Perfect Match Against Skull Man - my main gripe would be that things don't play in the same key except in the part at 1:07 (and the same part later on).

Great tune, nice sounds. Really original and enjoyable.

Awesome leads, that synth lines are great. Its just a great song.

It has some eerie atmosphere in some parts, that makes the song interesting. My only problem its that is very long and the rhytm can get a little repetitive.

Interesting song, that bassline its nice and holds the song together.
the drums sounds a little unclear like muffled, also if instead of the synth it would have been a live electric guitar this could rock really hard

Short Fight by esperado

Nice and relaxed, the perfect last song to hear for the compo

---------------

Overall it was a great compo, its interesting that everyone took quite a different aproach to the source.

Great songs all of them.

Showroom_Dummy - Funky house indeed! Loving the bassline in this, as well as the synths and chiptunes. You've arranged the song very too.

Jorito - I do love me some prog rock :) Unfortunately the 'rock' part of the prog got pushed to the background early on and got a bit lost in the mix. The synths used were exellent though and the bass and drums fitted very well.

bundeslang - Firstly; welcome back to the land of the mixing :) Secondly; very nice house-style track you've made. The lead synth seemed a little out of tune at times for some reason and there was little to no variation in the drum track (though that's pretty typical of genre). Got a little repetitive towards the end.

evktalo - The distorted synths give a good idea of what you're going for with your finished product, however as it stands at the moment it doesn't sound too great. I'm very much looking forward to hear this when the guitars are added :)

esperado - A nice different take on the source, good to hear some different instruments in there and a slower tempo. It's a bit lacking in substance (some pads or sustained strings would have been a nice addition) but otherwise it's a nicely laid-back track.
