Damn, that was hard. All of you managed to make great versions of one of my favorite Mega Man tracks. But, somwhere I had to draw the line, unfortunately I can't give 4 first place votes.

1 - Rave Man: That was exactly what I expected to become of that source, I really grooved while I listened. I first was opposed of the use of samples, but they really fit. Please, please develop this further.

2 - Miljoonamiehen muistelmat: 2 and 3 were really difficult for me to decide, but I chose evktalo's version, it somehow just worked. Could use some more mixing work, but it's a great start.

3 - Drum Man & Mega Bass: Wow, just wow, I really liked the groundwork, if you flesh it out it will have a lot of potential.

To gercr: I listened to your first entry, and your retry is much, much better. I'm not a big fan of jazz, but I noticed you have potential and there will be some time in the future when you will win your first PRC, I can see it happening, trust me, I won by much worse entries :P

Rave Man - Lots of fun! Great riffing on the original, great pacing. Reminded me a lot of your Dig This! I really want to see this one polished up, with a better ending.

Drum Man & Mega Bass - Good start, also an entertaining arrangement.

Mega Man's Memoirs (and I love Mega Man's literal Finnish to English translation) - The constant tempo changes seriously drive me nuts. I found it a little dull and repetitive. Production and playing are good, though.

Mega Jazz Man - A good approximation of traditional jazz arrangement. Fakey instruments got old fast, though. And other than being "jazzified," there wasn't much to the arrangement.

OneUp - I liked this one, great style. The way you used the source is excellent, there's lot of variation. The song misses an ending.
Evktalo - Nice mix of instruments. I liked the part around 2:00 a lot, from heavy to soft in a couple of seconds. I hope you can finish this song.
Trism - This was a nice start of something what could have been awesome. This version sounds like an introduction for the largest part.
Gercr - I liked this one as well. It's a little confusing at some parts, but it's a good start. I have seen many worser songs in the past, including most of mine :P

evktalo- The drum pattern changes threw me off but seem to almost work in this instance. the transitions were a little wonky though. Production seemed pretty solid to my ears though, as usual!

trism- Interesting take on the source. The lead feels like it could use some rhythmic variations as well as perhaps being changed out for another element at some point during the arrangement. the drums sounded pretty nice.

Oneup- This reminds me of DDR music a little bit. Cant say i have much to say here other than interesting sample usage and nice production! (as one would expect from the PRC champ)

gercr- Congrats on finding this site! im sure you'll find it to be a grand time all around, except perhaps the off topic subsection at times. On topic, did you record all these instruments yourself? if not, the sample quality is real nice! i enjoyed the mellow vibe.

I wanted to get Trism in there but it was incomplete.

evktalo - Epic noodling! Went on just a little too long for me but that didn't detract from this being an excellent arrangement with some great quirky time signatures.

OneUp - I'm all for a bit of happy hardcore in my life but this didn't quite seem to fit the bill for me. Production was excellent as is the norm with all of your stuff but this seemed a little 'safe' (for want of a better word).

gear - Definitely an improvement in your first entry and some choice of sounds, however the timing seemed off in a lot of places (however that could just be the jazz genre in itself, I've been a great fan to be honest). Still, a good first effort.

Trism: DnB was my first idea as well. The overly loud and constant acidish bass puts me off, but a good WIP yes.

evktalo: This is awesome! That ending! I especially like the bass, great variations. This is definitely the most worthy winner and a solid WIP for OCR submission.

gercr: I'm really glad you did a retake on this, even though I'm not a big fan of this kind of jazz with improvised parts, this is a great interpretation of the source!

Drum Man & Mega Bass - a solid WIP! The arrangement sounds very promising, the approach is working. The first instrument with the constantly oscillating filtering plays throughout, which gets a bit tiring on the ears, you should swap it out every now and then. No complaints otherwise!

Rave Man - This approach works very well! I couldn't help but start dancing a bit at 1:17. Really effective structure up to 1:42. The tune is a bit too short to conclude satisfyingly. The lead in the end sounds underdeveloped and static, although the same instrument & approach works fine at the start. My ears were expecting something with very high energy!

Mega Jazz Man - I very much liked the organic live feel. The sound/mix gets a bit cluttered at times, the rhythm was a bit too loose - I like the loose organic feel overall though. The chord progression was a bit unclear too, like the "band" hadn't quite sorted out how the piece should go. Still, I enjoyed this one very much!

Trism: I liked this quite a lot, even in its unfinished state. It’s a shame about the laptop but I enjoyed it nevertheless.

OneUp: Nicely executed, the vocals were a cool touch.

Eino: I found it really distracting how the bass / hihats would dramatically change rhythm in the main section. Apart from that though, a nice solid mix.

Gercr: Nice and laid back. However, wasn’t the biggest fan of how the guitar and the lead instrument interacted in the opening section – definitely a bit on the messy side.
