I quite enjoyed "La Mort de ce Belle Vie". The layering was very good, and all the different parts really came together to form a very lovely number. The vocals were beautiful, and I quite enjoyed the string instruments. Part of the guitar was kind of tinny, which was somewhat covered over by the rest of the music, but it still kind of rang out. In addition to this, however, I found that it was fairly true to the original source. Overall, I enjoyed it immensely.

"Son of the Shogun" was a good number, just not my taste. The beats were very well-done, and it would definitely make a really awesome party song. Again, however, it was not something that I'd listen to much. For what it was, I thoroughly enjoyed it, but not quite as much as "La Mort de ce Belle Vie".

Binweasel for first, setokaibarocket for second.

This contest was seriously lacking entries. I hope things pick up next time.

Setokaibarocket - I like the part after the drums. I really like the flute playing through almost the whole song. I don't like the break at 1:01, it's a bit to heavy. The drums and bass are good with the main trancey lead. Nice ending.
Binweasel - Good work for that short time. The cello (or whatever it is) isn't bad, but I don't like it for the whole song. The background samples don't add much. I like the vocal at the ending.

La Mort de ce Belle Vie - Nice interpretation while still sounding very Okami-ish. Recording could be cleaner and mixed better (especially the vocals). It doesn't really feel like the mix goes anywhere.

Son of the Shogun - More clean-sounding, and while it's not interpreted quite as much, it still has enough arrangement to get by. The break around the one-minute mark is rather awkward, and I can only assume you would have fixed that with more time.

Setokaiba : over all quality and listen-to-abilty is better in your version. So a winner is you!

Binweasel : Ich liebe the vocals pero no hay mucho singing. And that hurts. If the singing started a little sooner or if the song was a litte longer I would have voted you first.
