Honestly, if David John's entry had been in time, I would have pegged it first. It had all the ingredients. Seriously, you killed it.

That said, colorado weeks did the same job, with a bit less polish, and came in on time. Honourable win.

TheVideoGamer - I've done 5 of these find the sample series, mostly on free rounds as there isn't really any restrictions, so i can focus on the sampling part and not have to rely too much on having it fit a theme. Also it's a fun way to express creativity, through various means. Like the last one i've opted to dedicate it to a single OHC artist, both because it's quick and easy for me, but also it's way easier for you lot to guess, as before people had no clue whatsoever. At least in this case i could potentially find a good sound without going through like 20 different rounds. As said in the track and the comments this is entirely based off Misael.K, minus of course some of the drums and the risers for the transitions. The drums are literally from last week's entry, which i chopped and then mixed with my own to make it beefier, and more electronic. All of the basslines including the acid type one (There's 2 layers), are Misael's, as well as the piano and synth combo's which also come from Misael, so the only original element here is my own drum work lol. Still though i did a lot more than just copying or throwing it in, i actually spent the 1hr and 30 minutes making these samples quite musical, as well as spending the effort to have it blend within each other. Because the material was mostly riff's and motif's, i decided to change up the style without really changing the chords or the melody. All in all i had fun on this, and i'm glad people enjoy what i do. Glad you liked it!

Thug-Dracula - Welcome, i don't think we've ever met, hope i see more of you in the future. Loving these 808 subs, it's played in a fairly uptempo way, so it's not really what would be considered trap, however it's very cool. I do like the guitar work in this a lot, although it did just jump out on my like that, even if it wasn't loud. I do like the guitar fills at the end of each loop, it makes it for a bit of a cool spicy motif. The way it's strummed gives me a bit of a latin feel almost. I also like how you've faded it in and out towards the end, that's different. The one thing that sticks out to me, is that this is a bit on the crunchy side. It's almost as if the 808 subs are too distorted and eating into the mix a little. By the end i also felt like we could potentially add a melody or a topline to take this further, as i felt it was a little...close to being repetitive maybe. However i do know time always creeps up on us. Still though this one was a really cool idea with lots of potential so don't be discouraged, really dug the groove, good job!

Greendjssa - The music box man returns! Really like the soft waltz melodies here, it's a bit of a moody composition, but it's still quite happy. That melody is wonderful wow, it goes really well with the instruments. I kind of feel like the deep bass notes do this a bit of a disadvantage, i was maybe hoping for it to be an octave higher, however it doesn't outright ruin the composition, it's just a potential to take it further. Even if i say that though, i ended up finding a lot more to like than dislike here, so i'll give you this one. Well done!

DarkShadow - Ahh the classic DarkShadow saws and squares. This one is probably the most gabber of DarkShadow entries i've ever heard. Aside from the IDM intro, it's just straight up non stop 4 on the floor laser kicks distorted to high heaven, and a lot of off beat saws and stabs. I mean i am a sucker for gabber, although i do feel in this when the laser kick comes in, everything else is drowned out. Also i felt there wasn't really an ending, it just stops midway. Still though i'm glad you exist, because i don't think i've ever heard music as unique as you. Good job!

Koekepan - 6 minute Koekepan returns (although this is actually 5:57 lol). I love the square sounds in this, very nice blippy arps. The deep pads really make this more menacing, probably wouldn't sound out of place in an 80's Terminator movie. This just screams Terminator. The melody is a bit out of the blue, but then as we listen it blends well with the instruments, so it might be a DAW thing. It is more of a minimal piece, however this one is done exceptionally well. Not too much to the point where i don't hear much, but yet not obtrusive at all. Aside from being kind of relaxing, the melody really imparts a slight dystopian edge to the piece. Whilst not the most complex, it did leave me feeling extremely satisfied. Another piece that i would be more than happy if it went for 10 minutes. Lovely stuff, this is definately voting worthy, awesome work!

DDRKirby(ISQ) - Ooh nice chords, very cute. I don't know the exact artist, but it's extremely familiar. I like how you didn't even give us an intro, you went straight into it. The melody is fire as always, but i do detect some kind of phase or flange element in the melody, which is super interesting! Loving the different glitches in the beat here, it just makes it both cute and slightly hyper. It reminds me of Future Bass but different. Honestly whilst it's pretty short by DDR standards, it's extremely catchy and fun i love it. Definately voting worthy, awesome work!

Lyra_183 - Welcome back! Really liking the moody vocals in this one, it feels kind of dark. Really liking the rhythms, you melody work is really strong. The ending was pretty dope! I don't think i could go that high. Has a lot of potential to be even more awesome, keep at it! Good job!

Nukage - Great intro, totally feeling the science fiction synths. The synths are slightly overpowering the vocals, however this one feels like it's all a stylistic choice, and not so much a mixing issue. I do love the pad chords though, it's really airy and open. Unlike other Nukage pieces that follow the standard build up drop build up drop formula, this one has a very long airy intro, almost like an album opener, and then the drop comes in. The drop was completely 180. It sounds like were going for a EDM Synthwave feel it's actually pretty awesome. It is perhaps quite crunchy, the drums are unnecessarily distorted, however you more than make up for it with some amazing pad chords and sick vocals, so ultimately i will give you this one. Awesome work!

Meistr - Dang that is a lot of lyrics for only a 1:11 piece. Really pretty piano, i also feel like were in another Nukage piece, yet this is obviously Meistr. Whoever your vocal is, he sings extremely well, he is a sick singer! I love the drop a lot, it's not only catchy, but also different too, because there is a lot of swing emphasised in this one, compared to what you might hear in a standard drop. I will say the track is absolutely great, but i don't feel the vocals blend well with the drum and the piano. I feel it might be a bit too upfront, i think the gain is just a little too high. There is also some kind of impact sound, that initially makes the track very crunchy, but then it goes away, this to me is quite a minor issue. The drop is absolutely fire but only really 20 seconds lol, it just ends abruptly. Honestly don't be discouraged the work you guys have done is really sick! It just has potential to make it even more epic, it's great. Good job!

A2Z - Love me some trance, i totally feel like i'm in the late 90's early 2000's sound. The Belgium Trance sound as we would probably call it. The synths in this are really sick, that melody is extremely catchy. I love the modulations at the middle of the piece, really adds a nice switchup whilst keeping the melody and the synths the same. There is just a lot of cool little melodic flourishes in this piece, especially for a hard hitting piece like this. I do wish the bassline was strong, the only real low end is taken by the kick, whilst the bassline is not filling in that gap i think it solely needs, however honestly that's all i could really find. There was a lot of really sick stuff here, it definately sounds like a well produced trance piece. Honestly you did great here, awesome work!

Dex - This feels like a mix of Undertale and Pokémon styled music, more specifically the battle music. It definately has that Pokémon battle music going on. Loving the different stabs featured, really great transition into different sections. The violin melody is really great in this, lots of sick melodic ideas here. I feel like i'm in an epic battlefield. The melody seems more of background element here, but i think it works more to an advantage that a negative. The fills here are crazy, every second there is a fill, it's great. Honestly nothing else to say, i think it's a sick epic piece. Awesome work!

Coloradoweeks - At least you submitted that's good. To say it's all stock plugins this is not only peaceful, it's also really nice sounding. Parts of the progression and melody remind me of Happier Than Ever by Billie Eilish. I was not expecting vocals hot damn, and it's beautiful! Seriously you even harmonised it, and double tracked them, this is the most impressive wooow. All this one you're bed whilst using stock plugins, it's so impressive. This is not an exaggeration as well. It sounds too good for stock plugins, and precisely why i choose you for the top spot it was so good. Incredible work!

obScene - That is a cool keyboard sound, halfway between a Piano and a Harpsichord i like it a lot. I think there is a lot of detune here, sounds like were in a 432 tuning system. Not expecting those crazy robotic leads for this piece, but i am all for it! Those bitcrushed drums are a classic obScene element, but done in such a groovy way. I just love how you manage to find ways to add a cool melodic shine to the sound, that emphasises the atmosphere, without loosing the intensity. This is both emotional and hard hitting i just love it soo much. That ending was abrupt as hell lol. I don't know what else to say but it was so good i placed it on the third spot. Incredible work!

Ethansight - Great blippy blips, feels very loose, but with a lot of swing. Feels the least like an Ethansight piece to be honest, even with the classic harmony. Probably because it's soo smooth and slow. That string section is sick, and the bass work is soo groovy. I just love the melody in this soo much! Gets really epic to the end before it comes back down to the finish. Quite short for this kind of piece, but not too short, it's definately extremely catchy stuff. Awesome work!

Arcana - Even shorter than i thought, it actually starts at 7 seconds in making this 45 seconds long. It's ok though, if you at least submit you're already halfway there in my book. This is quite the sick techno vibe, and i must commend you for the super cool vocals, it sounds like an alien voice i love it. It does make for something quite dissonant, but it does resolve in the end, which is quite satisfying. It does have a lot of potential for smoothing and balancing, but i really liked it, it was interesting. Good job!

Misael.K - Another track that is very detuned! I need to try my hands at 432 tuning, but i worry i will make it too dissonant or weird, however you've already done it miles better than me. It's super melodic, and the arps and piano make for a emotional piece. Drum work is super funky, and your vocal work is sick! You even manage to mix it with another vocalist! Or that is you formant shift, this is a wonderful vocal mix, the whole track was just great. Definately strong stuff from you, so strong i wanted it to be on the list, but i can only pick 3. So this would essentially be 4th place if there was one. Amazing work!

DJohn - David returns for OHC! This time with a lovely piano backing, that feels super authentic and chock full of phrasing. Amazing vocals as always, but then again i'm i surprised lol. You are just such a good singer, it makes it really hard to accurately critique your music if your singing just distracts me haha. Not expecting an acoustic jazz bass for this, but i'm all for it! Why not, be different it's nice every now and again! The strings just make this piece, it really amplifies the emotional aspect. If i really need a critique, i'd say make the strings a little less dry, but i am really reaching for nitpicks. This was just absolutely lovely stuff, so lovely i placed it 2nd. Incredible work!

Top 3 - Coloradoweeks, DJohn, obScene.
