First. Second Guesses is so chill, and done so well. I love the melody, and the simple but effective percussion. It's short but definitely sweet.

Second. Kick Back - I definitely wanted to kick back. This sounds like it belongs in a game. I was really impressed with the trumpet later in the song.

Third. Against the Clock is epic, with lots of good sounds and a great structure... I wanted more, though. Ah well.

Round 040 -

1st place - Arcana: I totally loved that kind of jazzy lounge track. Nice pacing, right choice of sonorities, it sets the mood for an nice evening, sharing some drinks with friends, chillin'.
Really great song, just enough of what's needed to make it work, mature and worth a 1st place IMO.

2nd place - jmr: Having tried that kind of musical excursion myself, I can attest that making that kind of ambient track & nailing it isn't easy, far from that.
Jmr manages to put you in the middle of nowhere, turn the lights off, and let you being the prey of his own vision.
A very ambient yet imaginative track, that would totally fit in games with some heavy atmosphere like F.E.A.R. for exemple.

3rd place - N64...huh I mean J64H: To put it simply, a nice experimentation with a wide range of various sounds. While it isn't perfect (maybe on purpose), it contains some interesting ideas & a rather unique melodic approach.
Plus there's still that distinctive touch, that hits the right spot & notes for me.

4th place - Diotrans: I thought blending the classic bass & guitar pop with some more synthetic & melody heavy material was refreshing. It was enjoyable to listen to.
Lacking some vocal contribution on this one, but no big deal. ;)

5th place - Superjoe: Despite being a 'blah' entry, I liked the fast paced synth festival offered here. As usual, a very creative and fun piece to hear.

See you guys next time!
