This was a hard one to vote on - All very strong contenders!

Dex - Really liked this version. All I can say is that it was a bit of a shame the guitar feedback didn't last even longer at the end, as it ended up seeming a bit abrupt, but maybe that's because a lot of rock songs tend to leave the feedback going. Either way, nice job!

hoboka - You were so close to coming top for me here, as I love the instrument choices and mixing, with some cool sound effects too! Sadly, the section at 48 seconds was just a little too jarring for me, and I appreciate the attempt at smooth key changes (the 2nd worked better than the first), but there was just something a little too off about it for me. Nevertheless, still an excellent track!

APZX - Really liked the arrangement of this one, but felt it lacked variety in the percussion and instrumentation. There were some really cool harmonies going on though. As I said, it was really hard to choose positions this week, but someone had to come 3rd. Epic job overall though, and probably better than I could have done with this track!

Dex - Heavy metal remake of Vampire Killer is always a solid way to keep things MnP - especially when it's done well. My favorite part begins at 0:49- those kick as pad effects and the cool drum work and e-guitars jive very well together - production wise, E-guitars feel a bit stiff at parts, but I thought they were good overall. The good thing is the untrained ear cannot tell if those E-Guitars are fake...and I can't really say that my ear is that trained - but I'm going to GUESS that they are - if they are, they aren't bad samples. And if it's played live then I apologize ahead of time lol! Regardless, for a first entry this is miles beyond what I was expecting :P

APZX - Sooo close man (please don't slap me T_T) - I practically had an aneurysm deciding who to put in 1st - this is certainly a kick ass entry and the production quality is very dandy, good filter effects too. Especially love those saw chords. Felt like the mood was moving quite far away from the MnP theme, but since the notation and pacing is all intact I can't really shake my cain at that without coming off as a disingenuous dillwank.

Both entries were on par with each other and I would tie them in first place if I could.

APZX: Sweet synth sounds. I liked the variation at 1:15. Everything sits well in the mix. The track is too long though. It starts feeling repetitive to me by the 2:30 mark.

hoboka: I really liked the howl at the beginning of the track. I liked the octave variations, but something is wrong with the piano lines at 0:40 and 2:16. Something about the mix is off, too. It sounds too "metallic" and "airy" to me.

In general I liked both quite a bit. What ultimately did it for me was really mixing. Now, I know that this should be the lowest factor when considering the vote, but when two entries are so close otherwise then it really becomes a matter of weeds and seeds kind of thing. In this case, Hoboka's entry just had too much digital distortion/clipping going on. With that being said Dex isn't faultless either with the wimpy drum sounds and lack of forwardness in the mix either.
