1) Nightmare of the wyrm : The source is reconizable, I like the composition that you have made around it, it stays in the context of the game !

Maybe a mixing problem when I listen to your track into headphones, it's kind of everything is spread too stereo (like if they are squashed on the "SIDE"). I don't know if it's clear what I am saying lol as I'm not an expert in this field.

By the way, you added less reverb on this one, it's a good point :)

2) Extended Crisis v2 : I like it, is it a real guitar playing that you recorded ? That's kind of cool.

Just a little thing : that's actually very loud lol ; but there's no clipping or whatsoever, so just saying ^^.

Awesome work !

3) A 20 Second Crisis : 20 second to remix is indeed hard to extend.  Haha, the message at the end ! :D

hoboka : nice mashup. The pads instruments are a bit too presents and kind of add muddyness but maybe that's what you were looking for in order to add tension.

Souperion : the mega man X soundfounds indeed gives another dimension.

But sorry man, your extended composition on this one wasn't my taste.

hoboka - Dang, I like this. I'm not familiar with the other source so I'm not sure how much you changed, but it all sounds really interesting and works well together.

Soup - like the intro, the bends, the added parts, and the melody variations. Good ending too.

WT - Frantic sounding, true to the source. I like the variations and what you added at 1:14. Bass is a little weak sounding, like it has no low end. The drum part is a bit fatiguing, with all the cymbals. Good ending.

hleet - Good intro. Guitars are a bit piercing. Interesting direction in the second half of the piece. The choirs are quiter than I expect them to be, and then the drums and more subdued instruments make the rest of the piece more mellow (but still rocking). I prefer the second half. The first half is too busy for me. Good drum programming, though.

TVG - Interesting way to start the piece. I don't like the crash cymbal, sorry, especially when it hits by itself without the kick. LOL at ending.

Souperion:

A cool approach to use SNES soundfonts. It sounds like a remastered, extended mix. I loved the variations you made to extend it, keeping very much the same kinda vibe but a tad slower and paced, making it feel more like a drawn out fight than a frantic encounter. The pitch bending on the guitars is freaking great. Great vision!

Dex:

I loved the new intro! and I'm a sucker for metal shredding. The bright synths made great contrast. Sounds like you had great fun exploring and variating the source, breathed a lot of fresh life into it. Killer drums too! Great work!

hleet:

Double pedal kick! Good ol' metal. Nice effect to contrast the second half with synth brass and choirs. A delightfully faithful mix, nice work!

TheVideoGamer:

Killer drum work on that intro. I friggin love this ravey version, it sounds surprisingly natural and utilizes the repetitive source very well. It is a good effect to give the song a bit of extra structure with that intro and breakdown. And I chuckled hard at that... honest ending! Nice one!

hoboka:

I liked the extra source in there, I had considered adding another source to Barubary too. There's something pleasingly nostalgic about the instrumentation... I can't put my finger on it, maybe a little like some of the playstation Final fantasy games? I dunno. Anyway, great transittion into Barubary, since the first half has this heroic vibe that then is engulfed in the frantic energy of barubary. The guitar leads was a great way to shake it up at this halfway point. Nice compo, great work!

Wassup Thunder - Excellent Hellfire remix. On the cusp of being MnP, but eh, I'll let it slide. Plus I ain't the host no more! So x_X

Souperion - Now this is some good MnP idea-age there. Those pitch slides are brilliant...most of the time. This is a pretty damn good 16-bit homage for sure!! Excellent work Soup-Man!

hleet - Woah, I was expecting something around my level of quality, given that you're new here (unless I'm sniffing glue x_X). But I was pleasantly surprised by your take. Maybe I'm a sucker for that style of E-guitar and the brass is nice too!

Dex - Production wise, this is killer. But 2 points killed it for me. (Those strums are beastial though, I really dig 'em!)

#1) The Lead Guitar Tone. I don't really like the tone of that lead guitar (literally). I think it needed to be something more J-Rocky sounding, with much more vibrato and hellfire screeching.

#2) The original notation you added did not do it for me sadly, kinda felt like my earlier days of remixing, before I leaned more towards conservative remixing...like it was just there to do the motions - I'd have preferred if you just did a 1:1, as they didn't really click with me, sorry T_T.

Apologies being so cunty here, I do appreciate the production quality and effort you put in nonetheless!.

TheVideoGamer - LOL that voice clip at the end. I getcha...I probably shoulda picked a longer source tune. Another cool EDM techno mix.

Wassup T.: Very good dramatic boss-rush fury. Your additions added well to filling out the source, methinks it ought to have had this arrangement in the original. Good work!

Dex: I love this slightly slower approach, it gives breathing room but not nearly enough to relax. Loved the rhythm guitar work and the synth touches. Nicely done!

Hleet: Sweet and simple. Those guitar slides really made me anxious for more, keep working with that stuff. Good job!

TVG: I think the rave worked well here, tearing up the percussion as usual. And that ending XD.

After thinking long and hard i think Dex should get the win. From the top yes?

HoboKa - Great symphonic instruments, loving the organ here, really makes it more creepy and horror like. 20 seconds is not easy to expand, but the original material in the intro especially, it's just soo good. I wish you added more to that, it was great. The drums are a little muddy personally, i would mix them a bit more, especially when you place so much emphasis on the brass. I really dig the changes in this though, the original elements are pretty awesome, so much so...it's hard to even tell if i'm listening to A Crisis. Now i know you also included Boss 2 into the mix, and that's great, i just don't hear much crisis going on. When it eventually comes in, it sounds great, but the guitar is very in front, taking away the rest of the instruments. Honestly despite all the critiques, it's a lovely bonus, and i love the work you've done to it. Well done!

Souperion - I find it a bit humorous to switch from one SNES soundfont to another. It doesn't make much sense to me haha, it's like remixing a track, using the same instruments lol. I appreciate the time spent with the original melody changes, that's a lovely touch, and the soundfont does bring that Mega Man X feel, so awesome job there. I just...can't really vote for it, because it's not really a remix to me. It would be different if it's SNES to Genesis, or Gameboy, but this is literally SNES to well...SNES lol. I enjoyed the remix, but not sure if it's enough for voting i'm afraid. Sorry dude (Hope you can understand why, i'm not being rude or anything) Well done though!

Wassup Thunder - Wassup Rock returns. I dig the orchestrations on the melodies, really lovely stuff. Great harmonic elements as well, it's definately not easy making a 20 second remix go on for longer lol. You could tell in my remix haha. The choir was a lovely idea, really makes it more Gothic sounding, perfect for a horror movie aesthetic. In terms of critique, aside from maybe the usual polish here and there, the only one that sticks out, is that as you progress, the melodies get more buried, and it becomes just one big texture. Sometimes it's ok, other times it's not sadly. In this composition the melody is a strong point of the piece. The rest is lovely though, the sound choices and original melody ideas were soo good. It's also a busy remix as well, maybe fitting for a final boss, you don't pull any punches for this one, not time for rest, it's showtime lol. In all seriousness though, despite it's quirks, it's a lovely remix, with some super great ideas, enough for me to pick you as 2nd place. Well done!

Dex - I'm used to loud metal shit lol. More often i vote for it, than don't. The guitar work is amazing here, and the melody is crystal clear, and really fitting to the piece. I love the synth work here, it's not in your face, but it's such a lovely texture addition. The melodies are also really good here. It sounds like it's been modified to fit the time signature, and it works well. I like the pause before the fill. It is only 20 seconds, so i can tell you did a bit of repeats to make it seem like it's a substantial piece. But i also heard some lovely original melody ideas here, especially at the end. If i were to critique it, i would do some change ups to the chords. 2 chords is fine, but to really make it less of a repetitive tune, you could try and add more chords, maybe a breakdown, a solo section or even just orchestrations. What we have is amazing sure, but just little tidbits to make it even more awesome. Still loved it though, this was sooo good. It was enough for me to select you as the winner. Well done!

Hleet - As a take on metal, this was lovely. Great guitar work, great kicks and snares, really digging the way you've notated these guitars. Love how you switched up from metal into more of an orchestra rework, keeps it fresh but also doesn't loose the melodies and feel. It is a short one, not gonna lie, and i felt like the orchestra parts, was just exactly the same melodies, but on different instruments. Ending was abrupt, i would finish it on a final chord or something else climatic. I know 20 seconds is not easy to expand, so i can understand the reason for short entries. Hence why i made my message at the end. Really the idea is nailed down perfectly (Even if it could do with a lil' polish), i love the way you notated the guitars, it was a ton of fun. Well done!
