This was composed entirely within No Man's Sky's Bytebeat system. This is also the first time in ages I have even tried to compose anything with it. But hey, I enjoyed taking the plunge =)

I really intended on making this a more woodsy track, but the dark recesses of my mind had more extrasolar ideas...

Music from my past self? Well then videogame sounds and unbridled chaos it is.

This song is basically the musical equivalent of me banging my head on a computer to get it to work(old IT trick). Don't even ask me to rearrange those wires in an orderly fashion; we don't do that here.

I'm in a No Man's Sky phase right now, so when I saw the theme for this week's compo, I obviously couldn't resist conjuring up a little space magic this fair night.

This was going to be a doors and wheels song, but since the electric guitar wasn't working, it's just a doors song.

Happy 700th compo, everyone!

And then like with most of my other tracks, aliens start showing up halfway through.

I'm not saying it's an alien theme, but it's an alien theme.  Drums?  Where we're going, we don't need any drums.  Except maybe one at the beginning.

Or some motivational BS. I'll be honest, I got a pretty late start, so this one was a bit of a rush job. Here it is anyway.

The icy chill of space spans from infinity to your very core.

My knowledge on the subject probably isn't as expansive as that ice cube. Oh, that's not ice? Point proven.

I missed last week's compo, but wanted to do the theme, so I made a song anyway. Since I had neither the time nor inspiration for this week's, here is my bonus entry. Have fun running to space.

Since I still managed to upload this in spite of all the BS today, I'll take it as a win.

The last couple days have been pretty mentally-foggy for me, so this theme came at a good time. Welcome to the inner turbulence of my mind.

Time constraints mean I can't write anything witty or profound here.

A different song made on a different music program, in a different key, with a different tempo, created on a... different planet in a different universe?

Light and Darkness. Two sides to an eternal coin. The darkness may come to destroy the light, but take heart: the light will always return.

Lucid dreams. The mental world of infinite possibilities brought as close to reality as we may ever know. Our own personal Matrix. Lucid dreams can be an odd mix of anything and everything. So too, is this song.

Alone. In a one-seat starship. Further from your homeworld than you've ever been. You hear the cosmos speak to you, just faintly. Are you going mad? Have you reached a new level of consciousness? Whatever the mind's perception, solitude is there when all others have gone.

There's this dude, see. He's on another planet, with all the gyres peacefully gimbling in the wabe, but all of a sudden this storm of death metal hits, then leaves as fast as it came. Yeah, something like that...

Here is something I threw together with a few retro sounds... a sort of calm before the storm as a meteor barrels toward NES land.

Unfortunately having some trouble with my newly-acquired MIDI cable and getting everything set up and functional, but well... here's what I came up with.

Too bad the drum beat came out waaay too quiet...

It's space. And it's epic. XD

A quiet day on a calm sea, just you, on your ship, with your fishing pole and pina colada... all of the sudden... IT HITS! The big one. And it is angry! At the same time, clouds gather, darken, and blast lightning upon the stirring seas. This is... the battle.

Picture yourself in the dark, grimy workings of a metal factory. All around you, molten metal is being poured into molds, great, powerful machines are hammering relentlessly down upon pieces of forged metal, and alarms are blaring in the background, signaling break time, or a cycling of work stations. It's dark, hot, and gritty. And at the end of the day, all systems shut down.
