Rexy's may have possibly been better thought out, but I LOVED the highland feel of Binweasel's track. Plus it just had that great "live" feel to it. Clever integration of the theme to this song made this my winner. Rexy, yours was definitely cool but it almost seemed TOO cute. Or just not as original, maybe. I dunno. Here's hoping this vote counts since I can't vote for me own track and I have to leave a track out of the vote count!

It's been a tough vote for me between the pair; both of my rivals have something good about them and something that can be seen as awkward. So, let's put it all this way.

Flexstyle, you have put in a lot of fun into your rendition. I appreciate the liberties in changing the key as well and the drum work applied here, so all's good with that. I also think you have the better production between you as well. However, what stopped me from giving you my first place vote here was that there wasn't a lot of exploration on the theme here - it's almost too conservative for what can be expected. I got to hand it to you though, you are improving on a technical standpoint, I just want to see you be equally as creative in your notation as well.

Binweasel, on the other hand, had all the creativity here (hence the first place standing here) - there's something about the setup that has made me want to feel as if I'm taking time out in a local tavern in the middle of nowhere, so kudos on the movement for that. It wasn't quite as daring as what you did for the previous PRC but it was still very worthwhile. I do admit that the production would need some fine-tuning but I feel you're steadily plowing on with that; what seems to get me was that your hand drum work seems to come off as a little bit sloppy; I appreciate the realism into it (and thus assuming you recorded it live) but I'm kind of hoping for you to be more precise with your rhythms here, or at least be more careful in editing your performance.

A pretty analytical week, but I'm happy that both of you managed to come in and provide a good amount of fun for the compo. I hope to see you both continue to improve through and through.

Rexy: Interesting start. I like the samples you used, they fit very good. The bass is good as well. The middle part isn't very interesting. Good end.
Flexstyle - Total different style (as Rexy). It starts very noisy, but after it it's really interesting. I like the style. There isn't much variation.
Binewasel - Calm start. I like the violin, but I don't like the background sound (a kick or something?) what comes in at 1:05. The song is now too noisy. There doesn't change much after it. The ending isn't very well, I don't like the cut-off.

I <3 the story behind Scotch Star Pub. It also has a fun amount of interpretation to it. Not the best mastering in the world, but not so terrible that killed my enjoyment of the piece.

Rexy's was also interesting arrangement-wise. The save hut theme worked its way into the texture (a theme which I am intimately familiar with) so bonus points there. My main issue with this at large was the lack of balance in the frequency scope. Overall its a good listen and very relaxing.

Flex: Major WALL OF SOUND! The texture is rather overbearing and a little to 'up in your face' for my liking. It feels very muddy on the whole.

I usually only write a line for each mix as a review, but given how fantastic the songs ended up being this time around, I think I'll go in a bit more of detail as to show my appreciation for doing 3 great songs this time.

First: Rexy. I actually had a hard time deciding how to place the songs, but I think Rexy did an amazing work with the source and turned it into something different that was lovely. I really enjoy this, I'm keeping it for sure. The only complain I have with it is the fakeness of the lead strings that distracted me a bit but other than that, the arrangement was fantastic and the piano was lovely, great work.

Second: Binweasel. Another unexpected and GREAT entry, I absolutely loved what you did and how imaginative it was. Some stuff in it irked me a bit but overall it was very enjoyable and had me smiling all the time, nice work.

Third: Flexstyle. No less awesome was this. I expected at least a thousand of happy hardcore remixes of this song for this round, and only having one was a surprise. But that the only happy hardcore mix that was submitted was actually pretty good was a bigger surprise to me. It had me banging my head for a while. Of course, as you say it took less work than the other entries because how easy is to translate it to that genre but it doesn't makes it less good, good job.

Overall I'm pretty happy about how this ended up, thanks for remixing the song I provided =)

Rexy's gets first, Flexstyle's gets second, and Binweasel's mix gets third. I would have voted Binweasel's higher (maybe even first), but that tapping sound annoyed me. Was that supposed to be part of the mix? Because it sounded like it wasn't supposed to be there, like it wasn't following the rhythm of the song.
