Egh. I had a big vote written out and then I closed the window by mistake. So this'll be brief and stuff.

AlexSmith - The only one that had any arrangement ideas; the rest were for the most part covers. Also funky. (Trombone playing might need work; I think I heard a flat note there somewheres?)

TheoConfidor - Nice and relaxing, it's main problem is that it's very empty sounding.

Chickenwarlord - Short, sweet, but very, very few arrangement ideas; this one is the most like a cover. But it's a FUNKY cover, at least.

Nario - Um... those lyrics seem kind of off pitch? The whole thing seems very messy.

Chickenwarlord - Easy beginning, sounds very 'MIDI Quickish', like you mentioned. Funny samples, but the song is to short and the end is boring.
Nario - I see you used yourself as music instrument. Funny, it seems there's noting else and after a while it's boring. It is funny for sure, the length is good, but it's all the same.
TheoConfidor - Again, it's starts the same and there's not much variation. Nice guitar, but that's the only thing. Variation is what this song really needs.
Alex Smith - The song starts to easy, and the part around 1:05 is boring, so is the part around 1:40. This song has a real song length, but misses variation as well, although there's more as in the other songs. The ending is also boring.

Alex's song just had a real catchy and groovy rhythm going on and the quality was great so I put that in first. Theo's song sounded neat with two acoustic guitars playing simultaneously and was obviously authentic, not synthesized or created by samples. And Chicken's song was pretty neat, but compared to the other two songs it just didn't stand up; the pizzicato-like notes in the chorus were neat but it wouldn't justify anything above third place.

Funky Johnny is an amazing track. I love the groove and how the remix varies from the source significantly. The live trombone playing is refreshingly unique!

Arrogance has some nice synth sound and is a well-produced piece. My main complaints are that it is far to short to be taken very seriously. If this were longer and had some more elements it would be a strong contender.

Nario, I think your idea is very creative, fusing lyrics from another video game with this tune, but I didn't particularly enjoy the execution. The lyrics don't stand out very well amidst the vocal instrumentals.

While I think that Theo's playing most suits the song, I have to admit that I really enjoyed Alex's take on the entire thing.

Lol, Alex's entry really made me smile. It's like happy/groovy trombone. Maybe slightly out of tune in a couple of places, but the performance was clean and the song was well written.

Very close second was Theo's piece. Cool guitar work and well used reverb to capture the open mic feel. Only reason this track took second is arrangement-wise, it didn't have the meat of Funky Johnny. Very cool piece though, and well arranged.

Chicken's got another funky-groove type song going. Cool use of organs and bass. I think, though, that it mainly lacks in production quality - though it's somewhat made up by the arrangement. Plus it's REALLY short. I think with a sound upgrade and some more length, it could be a great song.

Nario's piece was very... different. I'ts almost like a bonus entry for the competition. Funny, strange, kinda creepy in some ways - but I think he accomplished what he set out to do :).
