I just couldn't reconcile the higher energy pieces (much as I liked them) with the theme as presented, so the lower energy ones got priority.

Miyolophone: Great composition, but I really love the sound production on this one

Arcana: Very nice sounds, a perfect match for the theme

Misael.K: The instrumentation intrigued me greatly, so it got my vote

1) "constellations" - I love the guitaring, and the overall, laid-back outdoors-at-night feeling. It's just such a lovely atmosphere that packs a punch with what is a rather simple but effective composition.

2) "Stargazing" - This also does a great job at capturing a peaceful scene while stargazing. It's a bit more just "for the moment", but it's a moment that once I listen to, I get the picture.

3) "The Cold Snow Night" - Woa, this is really neat and well done! The third place selection is particularly difficult, but I went with this one because I can really feel both the cold and the stars in this.

coolgreenapple: excellent playing to go with the theme. Nothing says "stars" quite like this.

Miyolophone: nice mix of dnb and epicness, good job! the cross-style manages to make it sound both modern and medieval, which I feel represents the theme pretty well.

johnfn: I like the different parts at play here, and how you managed to keep the song interesting.

I feel weird about ranking RSK and johnfn twice in a row because I already know them but that actually reflects my assessment of these entries so whatever.

I picked constellations because it really captured the mood of the night sky beautifully in a way that none of the other entries did imo. Compositionally sound, and it was live recorded which gets a bonus thumbs up from me, and it felt complete (rarely happens in these kinds of compos). johnfn and RSK both had string entries as well but neither left me satisfied after listening, which imo put constellations a step above.

Miyo: kinda huge I love it. Piano is on poooint. Choir and drums are awesome
