Star Controll 2 Syreen & (PRC140)

Description
After PRC136, another double source PRC. Evktalo and Thu selected their sources. You have the choice to remix one of the themes or both.



"Here's my pick for the source this round. It's the Syreen theme from Star Control II. If you have never played the game, I recommend you check out the open source Ur-Quan Masters project. You can get a copy of the game from there, which works directly in several modern platforms. There are also several remix packs available, which replace most of the music from the game with new arrangements.

I chose the Star Control song for my remix. I like faxanadu a lot but the song was a bit complicated and I had not much time for this.

This is my most rushed entry so far for PRC, I had only a couple of hours to do it because I won't be able to mix the next days, so I had some ideas but I was kind of clueless after the first half.

Anyways this is yet another electro remix from me but this one is much less chiptuney and feels more aggressive and breakbeat-ish. I just wish I had more time to develop it. I hope you all enjoy it regardless.

Like the source of the previous round, the Faxanadu piece was a challenge to figure out. Both were rewarding as well. I used basically the same instrumentation as last round to cut some corners. The style is quite different, though.

I did this entry in a very short time. It's a very simple song. I picked Faxanadu - Land of Dwarves.
Because 3 songs is better as 2 (and 4 better as 3 etc).
