Toward Brighter Tomorrows [Bonus Mix]

Um, I wanted lyrics, but I really can't sing. Well I can, I suppose, but you'd probably prefer I didn't. Accordingly, I took a bit of a different route and sampled from a speech by George H.W. Bush at the National Air and Space Museum on July 20, 1989. I'm submitting this as a bonus mix since it doesn't really use the original song as much as I'd like. Still, I did use some of the original melody and I wrote it for this PRC, so here it is all the same. I'd appreciate any comments, suggestions, or angry rants you may have. I don't have much experience in writing dubstep, by the way, so if you know something about the genre, I'd especially welcome your feedback.

I started this one day last week and completely forgot about it. I remembered it (and the deadline) this morning, so I panicked, cobbled together the entire last half of the song, and declared it finished.

I'm well aware that this is probably the worst song I've written in a very long time. My official excuse is that I've been very busy, but there are still some small parts of it that I like. I wasn't really planning to post it, but I figured since it's a bonus entry anyways, you all might get some laughs out of it.

I just started this the day before yesterday, so there are still a lot of spots that need polishing. Even so, I'm pretty happy with it. It's one of my first songs in Logic (got it last week; switched from GarageBand), and it's also one of my first songs in a "world" style. Enjoy!

I’m back! I’d have entered again sooner, but I had to take a break due to other commitments. Still, I found enough time to write this one up. The song’s 3:15 and uses both sources, so that should be enough for the bonus. The Mega Man one’s right at the beginning and is reused at various points, and Streets of Rage starts at about 0:46.

I almost didn't submit this one, but hey, I have to try a PRC sometime. I decided to write a rock song, but... well, I don't actually have any decent electric guitars. Distorted pianos and acoustic guitars made an okay substitute, though. Meh, it was an experiment.
